Try not to rely on always using the power swing as well, you can get decent pop with the regular cursor (I've had a couple doubles into the gaps with it) - but if you're looking for fly balls or home runs you'll need to use power. Also, if you look at the CPU you'll notice they switch to the power swing in certain situations (favorable pitch count, runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs, batter that's up has special attributes that favor the current situation, etc).
I think it's sort of unfortunate that there aren't any home runs with the contact swing, which really makes me want one-button hitting (what I mean by this is only one type of swing). I don't want to almost have to force myself to always hit contact with Vizquel, then power with Klesko. I want Vizquel to hit maybe 3 to 5 home runs a season, but not because I "forced" them. Sometimes players have their lucky stroke.

But yeah, I'll do some tinkering. I just don't want to go onto Powerful (is that the name of the difficulty) already and be dominating. I want to face a tough CPU opponent.

Has anyone played the Mii exhibition game yet? If so, are the Miis that play on your team completely random, or can you pick who you want to play, because if you can, I can't find it. Also, anyway to have more than 10 players on your team? My pitcher was horrible and I wanted to replace him and couldn't.

Where do you create players, I want to create a few, Braun, Chamberlin, Maybin, Raburn before I start a franchise.

Thanks for the comments about how to tell when your pitcher is tired, it was killing me yesterday. It is actually better to have to look at the pitcher instead of see a grade, since you have to look at a guy in real life to see how tired he is.

Where do you see how many pitches a pitcher has thrown?

Also, people are talking about seeing attributes like rally starter, or short temper, or king K, where do you see these?

does the AI screw up lineups or pitching rotations? like Manny R. hitting 8th or D WIllis never coming up to the bigs after an injury etc.

How do I choose another starting pitcher for a CPU team in Exhibition?

And is there a way to set lineups and rotations? (Not in season mode but for rosters in exhibition)

The Mii exhibition game was pretty frustrating when I played it. The game took 11 of my Miis and put them on a team and gave them random positions (it even gave them random left and right handed batting, which was incredibly annoying) and random attributes. The only thing that was impressive was how the Miis' faces look perfect in the game (the same as in Wii Sports). As far as we have been able to tell, you can't edit anything about the Miis as baseball players.

As I said in another thread, I am going to go a different direction with this. Rather than just play with random Miis, which is boring. I am going to edit 40 or 50 minor leaguers and make slowpitch softball players that I will put on created teams (you can make up to 6). The editor is really nice, and I am going to make my pitchers throw sidearm or underhand, and give them all knuckles and maybe knuckle curves so that their pitches resemble slow pitch softball.

I can tell you one thing I WON'T be doing, which is to try and create the 50 players one by one in success mode. It took me 15 minutes just to get through the set-up screens when you meet your roommate and your girlfriend who is obviously pretending to be a guy. It would take forever to ceate 10 players, much less 50.

A few people in various threads here have reported hitting home runs with the regular batting cursor. You may want to check with them and see what their settings were.

I think it's always random. Only way around it would be to copy all the Miis you want to use on a team to your Wiimote's memory, then choose the controller team. Dunno about getting more than 10 Miis on a team.

The quick and dirty way to do it is by editing a free agent or AAA player you don't care about. The way you're supposed to do it is by completing Success Mode

Pitch count either pops up when you pause or on a stats screen somewhere in the pause menu, I can't remember. The special attributes are on the player cards...when on the lineup screen or bullpen screen, you can check out detailed stats for a player, there's multiple tabs there.

Haven't tried it yet with this version, but in the past lineups/rotations can appeared to be screwed because the AI is shuffling people around due to stats/abilities. Adjusting them for particular players should help fix that.

You should be able to adjust their starting pitcher and lineup, but I can't remember how off the top of my head though...won't be home for a while. Unsure about the second question - worst case, you have to make a copy of the team in Arrange mode and make adjustments there, then just use the new copy of the team.

A few questions..lol..Now that I have the english version I have soo many questions..

                1) Does anyone know where I can see the stat for 'trust' or whatever it's called? i.e. that stat that helps when using practice as a group so that special abilities are passed on to other players.

                2) Do you have to unlock 'Expert' for season mode?

                3) I heard someone say that you can purchase extra stadiums from the shop, is this true?

                Thanks all!

                  1. Haven't played enough of Season Mode to figure that out, I'll try looking later tonight. Might be in the "Experience" screen that shows a player's current status in all stat categories.
                  2. Dunno.
                  3. I saw some stadiums in the shop, yes.

I am LOVING this game... I have 2 questions at the moment...

                    1) During Season Mode, I have something odd showing on the screen while I am pitching. Sometimes there is a blue arrow behind one of the normal arrows used to select the pitch type. Does anyone know what that indicates???

                    2) Has anyone figured out how to set up Practice correctly in Season Mode. I just don't get it. Pointers appreciated!!!

                        1. You can have multiple pitch types in a particular direction, holding the right button down while pressing the direction will choose the alternate pitch.
                        2. All your players default to Automatic. You want to choose a player from Automatic, then choose the particular practice you want them to do (i.e. Pitching - Control). You can choose multiple players and then assign all of them to the same practice. You can also group certain players together within the same practice, this could accelerate their training if they all get along. Note that the SECOND person you choose when forming a group becomes the designated "veteran leader." Took me a while to figure this out. Max you can have in a group is 4 I think. You can only group together a handful of players at the start (like 6 total), but you can purchase more slots in the shop.

Thanks man, your input on this board the past couple of days has been outstanding!

                          1) I would have never figured this out, thanks!
                          2) Ok, I guess I understand then. When that chick in the front office was explaining the system to my bumbling alter-ego of a GM, I thought she said that if I chose "Automatic" that she would take care of it for me.

3)So as a followup question, how often do I need to go into the practice screen, on a daily basis??

                          4) Ok, one more question! After every game, I get a screen which "seems" to be showing me ratings changes for all of my players, but when I hit "square" to bring up the player ratings changes, the window is blank. Can you tell me what is going on with this?

                          Thanks!

                            3. Can't say, I haven't played enough to give you a good strategy. I suspect constant continual training will be a bad thing, hence the rest option.
                            4. No idea, again I haven't played enough Season mode to know. I'm kind of all over the place in terms of modes right now checking things out without going too in-depth.

                                Yankees (CPU)= 5 13 0

I hit 2 HRs with Delgado and Wright
