Actually, I turn ball trails off. Im not talking about ball trails dude. You can see the ball, you don't have to rely on hearing.

Now, keep this civilized please, I don't want this locked. This is all great info.

        Dont go there nikeford.

I also like the pitcher/batter matchup better in HH. Because your pitcher can never throw a guaranteed strike. And you can throw a gang off walks with a pitcher. I make a user controlled efford to throw balls in ASB, and you usually cant throw walks. So every pitcher almost feels the same until they tire out. The pitching in HH is so tense at times, you feel just like a pitcher would feel. Throwing three straigt balls trying to avoid a walk.

But like I said the baserunning AI is the only turnoff on ASB, they dont try to hard at all. Plus the CPU batting IMO is a little off. They swing at to many 3-0 counts, and plus to many first pitches. Only way for my pitcher to fatigue, is for runners to get on base.

I'm sorry, I was joking with you. I think the ASB pitch speeds are great, they make you think fast, and it does make it tougher to react and get contact. Perfect if you ask me.

Couldn't agree more about the walks thing. And, trying not to walk a good hitter with a 3-0 count is a ticket to the bench.

As far as substitutes pitching around guys, that stuff happens in every game of HH. Pitching around a batter with an open base is something that happens exactly when it's supposed to happen in HH. That is where HH totally outshines any baseball game. It's real baseball.

I would agree with this. After splitting time with both. They both do this to some point. Although I see HH pitching around my hitters at the right time more often. I also see HH making the appropriate defensive substitutions and double switches. I have even seen HH sub in it's backups late in a blowout.

They both do this pretty well, but HH seems to do it at the appropriate time more consistently.

My biggest issue with ASB, is I have a hard time diffrentiating between the good pitchers and the bad pitchers both when pitching and when hitting.

ASB has the best and deepest franchise module of any game I have ever seen. And it's pretty solid between the lines, but comes up short when compared to HH on the field for me.

I just got ASB today and played 2 games. I have been using normal batting cursor with normal pitches (not Exagerated) and the pitch speed seems tright on. A baseball hits the plate in under 2 seconds in the MLB. Its represents that in ASB.

I have only got 3 and 4 hits respectively in the game but thats just from learning.

When i pitch i have been getting wahiled on but as i play more my pitching improves. You can;t put a ball in the middle of the plate or it can get sent flying. And i have been getting a decent amount of grounders, espcially when i use breaking pitches low in the strike zone.

Yea, it reaches in under 2 seconds in real life. Trying to duplicate that in a video game is a bad idea and cannot be done without a sacrafice in the game.

A big fan of High Heat (gameplay). That said, I just can't play it much. It's hard to get through an entire game. Why? It has no personality (IMO), it's stale and it needed a shot of adrenaline and 3DO didn't give it that this year. It took a step forward in animations, but a big step backwards in every other category (except gameplay). It needs a facelift badly.

I have found my comfort zone with ASB, EASY batting, AUTO FIELD and am enjoying the realism and all the extra goodies that come with the game. Perhaps when I get better I'll change my batting/hitting options, but right now I love it, especially the generated pitch count.
