I've got an infielder in my test/trial league who just can't get going. The ratings are there in that he should be doing SOMETHING, at least compared to similar guys. Out of a possible 20, he's 12 contact, 20 gap power, 7 HR Power, 12 Eye, and 13 avoid K's.

But before yanking him from the lineup due to inefectiveness, he was hitting .119 through half a month of play. Since then, he's gotten some spot starts and I hit him as a pinch hitter pretty often, but he's just 2-for-15 in those roles. He's still got some potential and he's a great defensive infielder, so I'm not ready to bail on him, but I feel like he should be better than a .122 hitter at this point.

    Any tips?
Pinch hitting seems to be pretty difficult in this game so I would expect him to struggle in that role. How old is he? What Infield position does he play? If he is young and a Short Stop i would let him play or send him down and let him play everyday. If he is older and you have another option I would see if you could get anything for him. The other question is how much is he being paid?

Did you guys ever set up a league or is it still up in the air? I can bring two to the table...we've both been a part of OOTP Online leagues in the past so we know the drill. If someone could post the status, that'd be great...thanks

Anyone playing this on Mac? I have never played OOTP, downloaded the OOTP9 demo and have issues with the bottom of the game running off the bottom of the page (so I can't use the bottom toolbar in the game), historical league doesn't hold ballpark images correctly (randomizes them or doesn't recognize unless I specifically show the game where each stadiums PNG is) and team logos keep resetting. In a 2008 league even though I can install logos and get them to work they reset every time quit the game and start it up again (but player images are fine and stay loaded permanently). Seems like a lot of basic problems that shouldn't be happening. I'm enjoying the actual game, but can't tolerate those annoyances. If they're fixed I'd buy the game. Are they issues for Mac in OOTP 10? (Unfortunately there is no OOTP 10 demo)

              Thanks in advance.

I love this game. I would recommend it to any baseball fan, casual, hardcore or anywhere in between - if you love baseball, you will love OOTP X.
I usually spend an hour or 2 before bed playing it. I've played the series since OOTP 5 and I absolutely love everything about it.

                  Re: OOTP X

What are feeder leagues exactly? Are they just there so you can see the stats of the college prospect before you draft them or an international player before you sign them? I'm just curious because I want to play in the most realistic settings so having the stats there to see would be better IMO.

And how would you set up a feeder league?

I'm waiting for an answer before I start my single-player league. Thanks.

I don't have any ballparks or logos set up, but I can tell you the mac version has no problems with the bottom being cut off. I checked full screen mode as well and no problems there.

Feeder leagues are just that...you can set it up to where there is a high school league that feeds into a college level and then into the MLB draft. I don't fool with it as much as I deal primarily with the Majors level but the level of depth you can have in this game is amazing. You could in theory follow a 14 year old throughout his entire career and even begin scouting him at that early of an age. There were people joking at the OOTP forums a while back about someone setting up a PeeWee feeder league. I don't know if they ever accomplished it but it could be possible within the game.

I'm wondering about the status of a league with OSers that play OOTP? I've been wanting to get into one but have just missed out on joining a couple of leagues at the OOTP forums.

                        Re: OOTP X

This is the first time that I have played any OOTP game (or sim/management-sports game altogether). I love baseball, have the show 09, but I do not have time to play console games too much having 3 month old baby. I am so glad that I read the OS review and decided to give this game a go. It is sports management heaven. I can play the game here and there on my laptop and I feel like I am actually making progress. With MLB the Show, I want to actually play most games because that is the games bread and butter. OOTP gives me the career/franchise type mode that I love and super sizes to a level that I have never experienced.

I am doing a 2009 Mets league. I love the fact that trying to move Carlos Delgado's contract, at his age, is proving quite a challenge. No one wants this guy and he stinks for me. Any other game I've played, I would probably be able to trade him for a number one starter just because he is Delgado. I am having a blast with this game have not even gotten to the draft or offseason stuff.
