Well maybe this game is not for everyone. But for my skills. I notice a big difference in good fielders and bad fielders in every position. And with the momentum in this year game I don't notice some of those other posters are noticing.

Re: The Show or 2k?
OP, change the title. Let's turn this into a 3-way Dance! lolol
Scottie,
Being now 3 season into my Show 10 nats franny, Playing 11 really shows the changes to the Momentum.
Try fielding as Marcus Thames and taking one wrong step.
Toast! lolLast edited by econoodle; 03-27-2011, 05:07 PM.Comment

Re: The Show or 2k?
- Fielders responsiveness is avg to below avg
Fielding is not strictly user controlled through completion of the play
Fielder movements when in user control are basically 8 axis movements
I'm not going to let the "prettyness" of the game blind me to what I'm seeing and experiencing. From the fielding standpoint, I'm just not satisfied.Comment

Re: The Show or 2k?
I can't speak on the behalf of Pro Yak, but the Show 11, I notice a big swing in this games fielding from previous versions. Also I like how I don't have full control of my fielders though. I will give up some control to have smooth animations. Also when I am pitching I am to busy on that. So if I had full control I will never be able to React fast enough. Can't really have a discussion about Pro Yak, I have never played it and have no desire to play it.Comment

See, can't stand that. I'm defending my point, not getting defensive. But just by saying I'm getting defensive, now I have to defend that .... and it can look defensive. Well, enough of that. I would never took what you said as a knock on me because you didn't point anything out about me. But basically this is what I'm saying about it:

Read your reply to me. Yes you did get defensive. There was no need for it.Comment

Re: The Show or 2k?
Well... you can't refute the one about the semi-auto fielding. The only way to do that is once your guy is under the ball and as it approaches his glove, move him out of the way and drop it, not that I've tried that. But if you move the guy to the general area where the ball is coming down, and let the controller go, what happens? I'm not saying I know, but if the cpu takes over for you.... that sort of makes my point.

Re: The Show or 2k?
For a VERY VERY casual fan of basball, I would have to go with 2k11
I tried both, and 2k was just more friendly...Comment

Re: The Show or 2k?
Where did you read the false information then about The Show?
The fielders ratings on the field were completely gutted and redone, and they took it one step further and have animations tiered to only the best animations go to the elite and the routine and not as flashy to the scrubs.
And the fielders DEFINITELY feel different from one another.
You will want to sub good fielders late in close games. The fielding is night and day this year compared to last. It is stellar!
Next game I put in Jonathan Herrera and he was 100x better than Young Jr.
I think that 2K11 brings a good mix of sim and pick-up-and-play to it and is a nice alternative to The Show. If you are a pure sim baseball guy, you'll probably be more inclined to go with The Show. But, if you are a casual fan, 2K11 would be a good choice.
If you are a hardcore baseball fan and have the resources (both time and money), get BOTH games.Currently Playing:

Re: The Show or 2k?
this is very helpful, im trying to get a baseball game and im leaning towards mlb 2k11 simply because ive bought the show the last two years and to be honest im kinda getting bored. i hope 2k can give me a good change of pace and then i can return to the show next year.Comment

Re: The Show or 2k?
Just don't expect the same level of realism that the Show provides. If you're looking for quick, easy and fun, 2K11 with it's arcade-style timing-only hitting is fine. I would compare 2K11 versus The Show, to (an unpolished) Halo versus Fallout: New Vegas for example. One is happy, mindless fun, while the other requires a great degree of focused thought and consideration.
A lot of people it seems are abandoning The Show and taking another look at 2K11. I know for myself that 2K baseball -- now that it's finally playable -- provides a new and different alternative, which is a big part of the attraction for me. But I also realize that it's not a very deep game, and in that regard there's really no comparison between the two.Last edited by peigone; 04-05-2011, 11:25 AM.Comment

I'm actually playing right now and I use auto fielding. Troy Tulowitzki at SS is a beautiful thing to watch.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: The Show or 2k?
I have been a Show player since its' PS2 days. I got it again this year using some e-gift cards at Amazon. I just went ahead and bought 2K as well. The Show has just become somewhat stale to me. Don't get me wrong, it's still an amazing video game. However, playing 2k, with it's slick presentation and fresh feel, I just have so much more FUN with it than The Show.Comment
