    Re: The Show or 2k?

I bought a PS3 a couple weeks ago just to play The Show and I'm glad I did. 2k11 is no slouch this year tho.

2K seems to have an easier learning curve but that might just be due to the fact I've been playing that series for awhile and I know the feel of the game. I'm getting my butt kicked right now in The Show but having alot of fun.

I haven't tried this year's 2K Game but for Me It's the Show all day. The Graphics/ And Realism is just better than Any other baseball game.

From What I've read 2k Has gotten better, so IMO i think it's just a preference.

It is very good, and a polished as it gets for limited hardware.

Animations still look and flow phenomenal.

Yep, that is what is great about stud defensive players in this game.

Knight, you know, this has been going on for years. It's not just baseball games.

If you were over in the NBA boards around the time of NBA Live 10's launch, it was the same thing. 'I've played 2K for years but I gave Live 10 a shot this year and I'm having so much fun!'

Granted, Live 10 was good (I could go on for pages about how the subsequent updates/patches ruined the game, but I won't since it doesn't belong), and hey as gamers, having multiple options is a great thing.

Sure, if you're playing a particular series for years things are going to feel a little stale. And yes, when you decide to try out a different game, it's going to feel new and exciting. What we fail to look at is the other side of the coin; what about those gamers that have been playing 2K for years and have now just picked up The Show for the first time. Wouldn't you think that they are having the same experience as the guys that went with 2K instead of The Show?

It really all boils down to how you look at it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: If you are a big baseball fan and you have the time and resources, then by all means, get BOTH games. Each brings something to the table and you can enjoy both games for what they are.

Now, if you don't have the time, money or desire to own two baseball games, then it all boils down to personal preference and that's where you have to look at each game and decide what YOU want out of a baseball title.

Anyway, with the flaws that are game breakers in MLB The Show this year, how can you not make a case for MLB 2k.

For one MLB the show is the most realistic game and 2 those bugs will be ironed out in the next patch.

For those that have not played MLB the show there group of developers really work hard to present you with the most realistic baseball game. Sure franchise has not been updated but still extremely deep and enjoyable. Gameplay is smooth especially with the new analog controls. The Show does have a learning curve as your not going to pick it up and be Roy Halladay or Albert Pujols right away. So if you don't have patience to play baseball at a high level you might not have the patience to play The Show either.

I really do not know why guys just do not rent both games and see for themselves instead of asking what people think. Of course you going to get bias opinions for both games whether there right or wrong. No one truely knows what your going to like but yourself. Personally I played 2k up until 2k9 and got so upset with such a poor game of baseball I bought a PS3 for The show and have not been more happier.

I think one of the biggest flaws that MLB THE SHOW has is its commentary and overall flow of the game.. Just like MLB THE SHOW is one step ahead of 2k11 in the graphics department, 2k11 commentary is far superior than MLB THE SHOW.. Since the PS3 is already "outdated" I don't think MLB THE SHOW can look any better than it does now, therefore I believe SCEA should focus on the commentary(bring some new commentators to the game, maybe joe buck?) and on the presentation. They also need to focus on fixing the trading logic bug on ROAD TO THE SHOW and all the other modes..If those things are fixed and if they make the commentary similar or even better than 2k11, MLB THE SHOW will be PERFECT1!! PERFECTO!!

If you want realism go for the Show

if you want arcade/casual style, still the Show

Sorry but The show can be hard, real and easy depending on the settings. Setting gives you many choices. If you want to hit with just one button without the use of locating with analog, rookie mode is for you. If you want to pitch with just pressing and holding, classic pitching is for you...

The only 2K baseball games I've ever played were 2K5 and 2K7. 2K5 was very fun, but not being a baseball fan at that time, I didn't play it much. 2K7, still wasn't a baseball fan, but didn't think it was anything special either.

I had The Show 06 (I think) on ps2 and had fun with the road to the show. Got 08 on PS3 last year, but got the YLOD. I know have 10 and have had an absolute blast with it. Started a franchise with the Reds and got killed by Matt Holiday in the first season agains the Cardinals. I felt a difference between facing pitchers, left handed pitchers gave me problems. It's great!

Maybe I'll try 2K if I get bored of The Show, but for now, it's The Show all the way.
