That's a generalized and subjective statement. Probably coming from someone who hasn't played it in years.

to me.. it's all about the gameplay... I can careless about looks. I would rather play WSB on the Genesis over ASB the last couple of years for example. The last great ASB game was on the N64 imo.. I mean great in terms of gameplay. I'm not saying last years sucked.. because it didn't.. it was good.. so was WSB.. and MVP was ok too.. but none of them were great!

Also I don't think any baseball game on next generation consoles yet have been all around great either.. starting with the Dreamcast. none.. however, I do think MVP this year could be the first maybe.. it certainly looks to have awesome gameplay in all the movies I have watched. specially for human vs human games.... MVP looks to be the best so far. only time will tell though.. I'm not counting out MLB...

I'm still waiting for the next Baseball Stars.. WSB on the GEnesis or Saturn.. etc..

I think that if OS voices are correct, then MLB 2005 will play the best game of baseball... the game of pitching, hitting, fielding, and scoring... nothing more. No meters, no emotion, just the great game of baseball as is. I think that WSB 2K3 was the next closest last year, except for a couple things, and everything that I'm thinking of that was a problem for me last year (except for some batting stances) is fixed.

IMO, MVP's saving grace is it's hit variation... I don't think that the hit variation would've happened without them tweaking their hitting system though. I like their hitting system, but I don't like how EA calls it "new" and tries to convince everyone else that they were the first with some features, when other games had it, but people just overlook them.

Love how you two are just writing off ASB already.

As everyone just instantly logs onto MVP.

You're right though... I'm hoping that all videos are coincidence (in terms of first-pitch hitting, many pop-flies, not too much timing involved in hitting, pitchers being too accurate, the day sky, etc.), and that this game can be a good rental, possibly even a good late buy. But from what I see (and have experienced for 3 years), I'm not liking to be the game to buy.
