Re: Official Wishlist for ASB 2006

Just a couple of esoteric changes:

Please have the baserunner run out a grounder instead of heading back to the dugout when he's thrown out.

Also, please cut down on the pitcher celebrations after a strikeout. I could see maybe in the late innings of a close ball game, but not in the first inning of a Spring Training game

    Thanks

This is something I would like to see. Acclaim should get together with some catchers and managers and come up with a gameplay option where your catcher will give you a sign and you can shake him off or throw the pitch. This would help those people who are not baseball purists and don't know how to properly mix pitches and speeds. While I love talking to my baby cousin and teaching him the ins and outs of the game, I do get tired of him asking which pitch should I throw.

Also, I think Acclaim should ditch the cursor aim on pitches and go with how High Heat did it, where you just pick a location and the pitchers control rating determines where the pitch goes. I always did like having a tired pitcher, and even though I try to locate the curve ball low and away, it hangs right over the heart of the plate.

Make players ratings based off of a point system instead of the letter grade. Also, when you create a player start him at a base skill level and give a few points to distribute to any attribute. I dont like the fact that I can make my guy with all A+ attributes.

Please program the CPU controlled batters to use their signature warm up swings when they step up to the plate. Both MVP & MLB have this & it adds alot to the realism.

Re: Official Wishlist for ASB 2006

Cant anyone but 989 and HH 2004 get animations to look and execute on the touch?(not dissing 989. I actually like the game better then MVP and ASB so far. 989 brings the barebones of baseball to videogames.) The reason im asking this is because it's so damn hard to get simple double plays executed on MVP and ASB. I understand the whole anticipation throwing in ASB but damn. MVP has gameplay errors of players having to set up when close to the player and throwing over or through the player. ASB has the set up animation issue like MVP that prevents plays from being as smoothly executed as 989. So far this is my only gripe with this game and MVP(plus other things for MVP...not gonna get into that ).

CONCLUSION: Get the animations to execute as smoothly as MLB 2005 by 989 did/does. I guess this could all be fixed with new MO CAP sessions.

                        P.S.:
Other gripe has to do with online play. ASB on XBL! --------THREAD

                              Minor league stat tracking.

Make the amateur more of a gamble. Usually, the players selected in the first round always pan out, and the guys drafted in rounds 3-5 usually don't do anything. Change this, don't give us the prospects actual rating in the scouting report, gives us grades of his tools, then his performance of his previous two seasons, whether they were in high school, or college. Also, for the scouting reports, give more notes, like "This pitcher has a plus fastball and curve, but in order to start, he will need to develop a better change-up, or else he will end up reliving.

MLB-like owner mode, with an option to buy baseball academies around the world. Like the Dominican and Austrailia have a lot of major league baseball team's acdemies. Austrailia has mostly like Asian players, while the Dominican has the Caribbean area players. Purchasing these sort of academies will up your talent pool in these regions. ASB already has the best franchise mode, lets make it even deeper.

As you can probably tell, developing prospects is my most favorite thing to do in Franchise mode.
