Re: Official Wishlist for ASB 2006

IninO and michaeldu said much of what I'm thinking, but the one thing I'm really surprised about is the apparent lack of interest in full minor league rosters and playable minor league teams. I, for one, LOVE the hands-on ability to control the future of my MLB team in MVP, and think that EA did a fantastic job of designing believable (if somewhat generic and sterile) minor league parks. The crowd atmosphere was really good too. I live in a AAA city (Indianapolis), and really appreciate the inclusion of the minors. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'd like to see Acclaim take a swipe at this. It would only add to the realism already built in with things like player options, fatigue, arbitration, 10-5, Rule 5, etc.

Gotta get smoother animations, though. Overhauling pitching was something I heard a designer discuss for next year, and that couldn't hurt either.

-Leave the catcher how he is before the pitcher comes set in Broadcast and Broadcast 2 camera. He looks like hes gettin ready for a pitchout every single time. Everything looks damn near perfect then the catcher goes into an insane elevated squat.
-Zoom in to players faces in create-a-player, give more options for editing
-let us create our own teams using created logos and such.
-new crowd, totally redo the 2d hyperactive imaged crowd

But besides those gripes i Love asb and would never think about stopping playing it b/c of a few minor things.

                  1. Fix those 90 degree hops the ball takes in the outfied (classic view).
                  2. 1980's TWIB Music to go with that feature.
                  3. A free roaming replay camera (but don't remove the current angels, those are cool too)
                  4. More user friendly baserunning controls.
                  5. Add options for a shorter season...I'll accept that stats will be off.
                  6. Add option to turn off bullpen management (relievers are always warm and ready to go).
                  7. Better font for stats(they are hard to read in '05), and more ability to sort.
                  8. Real minor league teams.

I absolutely love the retro parks. But it just doesn't feel right playing in Ebbetts field with the Devil Rays, or even the "Los Angeles" Dodgers. I would love to recreate seasons from the past, but we need a few things:
                  1. Custom leagues. At least give the option for two leagues with 8 teams each.
                  2. Let us change city names (LA -> Brooklyn, Texas -> Washington, etc)
                  3. Make it easier to edit rosters. I was thinking of recreating the 1919 Black Sox vs. Cinci series, but I couldn't change L/R batting for players, nor the batting order. Seemed like a hassle and I gave up.
                  4. Speaking of the Black Sox, how about an old Comisky. Another blow to my recreation of 8 men out.
                  5. More Retro Unis. What you have is nice, but it doesn't seem that many have been added in the last few years.

i think that you should be able to see each and every players reaction to hitting his homer computer or human controlled... that would be cool and pitcher reactions to those hr's. just put in a bypass button push for those that wouldnt like to see it.

3b coaches giving signs to the batters.. they may have no real meaning but they would look cool

oh and lastly... I WANT TO KNOW HOW FAR MY HOMER ARE BEING HIT!!!!!!!!

                        <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I think only the top sluggers like Sosa, Ramirez, Griffey, Klesko,Sheffield, Rodriguez,etc.. have the homerun celebrations. Which is how it should be. It wouldn't be right seeing the non-sluggers doing them.
