Something MLB The Show should've implemented a long time ago.

But what I remember from having it way back on MLB Power Pros is that a lot of the more powerful home run hitters had higher trajectory ratings, I guess meaning that they have more fly ball tendencies.

If they could find a way to use that where "swinging up" also meant things like more top-spin line drives and such, that would be awesome. I don't think it's at that level, though.

I think i finally found my perfect settings. I'm getting real good games that are low scoring and hit counts low. Try these out! Keep in mind, you'll need to learn the pitchers you are facing and have a game plan every AB. I like to take a screen shot of the AI tab of what my opponent pitcher throws and have it open on my second monitor.
Basic
Move Cursor - Analog. I like digital but i find when using real pitch speed and movement, Digital is too slow to catch up of where the ball is going if you guess the location wrong and try to move to it. Even if upping it to +2.
Digital Speed - this will be greyed out if you choose Analog. Use +2 if using digital
Vibration Function - On. Doesn't matter on PC
Ball speed level - Real speed
Best pitch - No flashing

Camera
Personal preference, i have it at default

Hitting "Blow"
Hitting system - bat cursor
"Meet" assist level - Level 3
Strike zone - pitching history only

Pitching
Pitching system - Double Press
Pitching assist level - none
Pitching cursor - Cursor/Change point
Table representation - Ball + Ball type
Pitching prediction point - real
Pitching form - real
catcher return ball - can be

Runner (default)
Assist

Fielding
Defensive operation - Assist. You can use manual if you want. I use assist because when balls are hit hard into the OF its hard to tell if its coming in or going over head because the slight camera delay. I feel with assist they at least begin moving in the right direction.
Throwing type - ABXY
formation - standard
Drop location indication - can be
fielder cursor display - foot cursor
cursor switching - automatic
action button - assist

Strategy (all default)
Player explanation - manual
Defensive shift policy - theory
Defensive shift operation - simple
block sign operation - simple
coach advice - manual

Information
This is up to you. I have everything off because i like a clean screen with nothing on it.
COM
Strength of CPU - Custom
COM Strength (Pitching) - Perfect
COM Strength (hitting) - Strong. You can use Strong +. I feel with Strong the CPU swings and misses more and chases more pitches out of the zone. On Strong + the CPU gets double digit hits and i like to keep it lower and more realistic. I'm aiming for realistic numbers instead of the hard factor.
COMP strength (Baserunning) - Perfect
COM Strength (Defense) - Weakest. Sometimes there will be errors. But i see OF taking bad routes with this and sometimes throw it away.
COM pitching cursor - Not displayed
COM pitch display - none
COM pitch prediction point - real
COM strike zone - Not displayed

Field Play (second tab)

Important - Go into match settings and use the Heavy ball (bottom one). Will produce more hit variety.

Have you been able to increase the number of balls and foul balls? both cpu and I have too low a pitch count with my settings

I get a lot of balls and higher pitch counts but not foul balls. With the real pitch speed and movement you really have to sit on a pitch and location otherwise its too fast to move the cursor to catch up to. When I guess wrong i just leave my cursor where its at and take the pitch. Foul balls/Pitch battles dont really seem to be a big thing in this series but i do get some fouls on 2 strikes and i try to move my cursor if i guess wrong and get under it or just to the side of the sweet spot.

The OS newsletter this week was about Pro Yakyuu. It says the closest thing to a franchise mode is the High School tournament. Thats not correct is it? I've been spending most of my time in exhibition or live scenario modes but isn't the Season mode the franchise mode? I could have sworn reading that you can play unlimited seasons and reading through the translations there are draft classes.

I can't read the article but yes Season is franchise mode. Funny how it starts "Best baseball game you've never played" then makes that error, seems to go with the title lol

Yeah I phrased it poorly, it's that Season mode just doesn't have as much depth as Hakkyu and it's more contained than that mode. (I also shoutout this thread since it takes a community to help with all the components of this.) I have also not jumped into Season mode myself yet, just been playing Exhibition games and dabbling elsewhere so was basing it in part off the old versions I had played more extensively.

One small difference I noticed from the videos is that the uniforms of the players in the Konami game do not seem to get dirty during the game like they do in The Show. In any event I have ordered the game from Playasia and look forward to struggling with the Japanese. [emoji4]

Ah I assume its not too difficult to create a Non US steam account?
