Yeah, and when you're a first baseman, wouldn't it be rather hard to make sure you're covering the bag everytime, or would it be hard to turn a double play, etc.?

I'm not sure if I like the cursor batting system, but maybe you could turn that off. It's hard to tell how a game plays from a short video, but the graphics and animations look great. I also like how there are real ads in the stadium like Toshiba and Coca-Cola. I still don't get why all the sports games can't use real ads. Would Coke sue EA Sports, if they put Coke signs in MVP, and gave them FREE ADVERTISING? If anything, EA could charge the companies for advertising (like in real life).

I was looking to get this game a little earlier in the year but didnt have any luck finding an x-box version....just ps2. Does anyone know if there is a PC or xbox version? Also do you have to buy any kinda import chip for your system?

I've seen videos for this game before and loved it, i especially love the fielding animations....EA could learn a thing or two.

Some quick comments on the batting system.

While the game does use a cursor system, the bat cursor will change shape depending on the batter's abilities and his situation. If it's a 1-2 count, the bat cursor may shrink quite a bit if that batter does not do well in that situation to reflect him going into "protect" mode, making foul balls and grounders more likely than anything else and making it hard to get a solid hit on the sweet spot. However, if it's a 2-0 count with 1 out and 2 men in scoring position, that same batter may have the bat cursor increase to a huge size if they excel in these sort of batting situations.

Of course, the size of the cursor doesn't mean much if you don't hit the ball on the sweet spot of the bat (though a larger cursor makes that a lot easier of course). And there's also the option to switch to a "power" swing which changes your cursor to a small little circle where the sweet spot of the bat is. This makes it easier to put power on the ball, but if you're off you get what you expect (crappy contact, or a high fly ball/pop up). It's possible to hit homers without switching to power as long as the pitch, swing timing, and impact spot are right.

There is no Pc or no Xbox version there is a Ps2 version, also keep dreaming you will never play it unless your modded or have a Japanese Ps2 and want to spend 90 bucks importing it (dont know about gamecube). Its a really good game and Mvp does steal alot from it especially from last years and the year before. Konami makes a very good baseball game.
