Lol...why would Konami care about impressing American fans and depicting American baseball?

I've lived over there and been to ball games...They are baseball obssessed in Japan. The game is played a little differently and definitely has a unique flavor to it.

Generally, the Japanese are a bit weary of American influences/opinions. Even when an American comes close to breaking the HR record, it's basically a given that he'll be walked 3 or 4 times a game. They take their game VERY seriously.

Apparently Americans want unrealistic, arcadey games made for 12 year olds. That seems to be the market I see most sports games targeting these days.

Japanese developers are passionate and incredibly detailed in their programming. If they had their hands on an MLB title, it'd be the best game out, bar none.

Let's be honest, Konami and other Japanese developers are worried about the code and gameplay. You won't find glitches, bugs, or any other lazy programming things. American companies, like EA, are more worried about a few bells and whistles.

That old batting cursor looks like the screenshots I've seen if Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball. Looks pretty interesting, but I'm having too much fun with MVP to worry about another baseball game.

Impressive. All those cut scenes were awesome.

Now if I could only get an imported version that has alot of English translation in it then I'd get it in a heartbeat.
Stupid Capitals. New year same story. 3-1 lead goes bye bye. Oh well!

Speaking of animations, I just saw a new one in MVP. I was playin the Twins and I hit a liner to CF and Hunter dove high in the air and snagged the ball, did a forward tumble as he was hittin the ground, hopped to his feet really fast and gunned out my runner from second that thought there was no way in hell he was catchin it.

Aw man!! They took the video down. Anyways, here's some footage about only playing as a pitcher:

Playing only as a pitcher for the season

Playing only as a second baseman
                                second base point of view
