This is from an earlier post I had made over the weekend that could help explain this release.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex

They fixed the extemely long load times, framerate issues, and a few other known bugs for the greatest hits version on the PS2. IGN was the only site that had reported the news initially.

I am looking at this version of MLB2K5: WSE the same as CB:WOC. It gives
2KSports the opportunity to fix the game as if it were being released as part of the Greatest Hits and Platinum lines. Since we know sports games aren't released again under these labels than we just need to treat this game the same way.

I take it as 2K is giving us 2 new modes, 2K Presentation replacing ESPN, Updated Rosters, a MLB DVD, and fixing most of the bugs. I would consider this as a Greatest Hits re-release to fix the problems and update the game."
Not quite sure about this candyman, since earlier posts in this thread describe the updates as "half-done" and so far, people are still seeing bugs, such as the 3rd base Crackman.

    Switch (Mario Kart and Zelda)
PS3 (old 2k games and the Show)

Well, 6 hours have passed and it's still in Tempe, AZ? Guess they can't figure out what to do with it once they shipped it back out of California, lol.

By the time you get it, it will be time for 2k6!

Besides, T2 should plan on losing an assload of money every year if they plan on doing this since they didn't just sign Derek Jeter to be on this years cover, but on the next 4 or 5 covers (I'm almost positive he signed a multi-year deal to don the cover much like what he did with the ASB series) of the MLB games.

Yes, people like you and me will buy the game regardless of who is on the cover. I absolutely despise the Red Sox, yet I purchased MVP too (although I did replace the cover with a custom made one). My point is that Take 2 knows that they already got the sales to guys like us and they are now trying to appeal to a more extended customer base, and cash in on the post season. It sucks but it's true IMO. You can think its dumb, but just like everything else, it's all about the Benjamins.

I will probably buy this game too but ONLY if they fixed all or most of the ridiculous bugs. Certainly, the very least they could do is put out a game that is not broken before you even open it.

I don't think this was yet answered (yet it was asked), but do they have the classic stadiums like Candlestick Park for the '89 World Series?

Also, can you load your old files?

We really need to boycott this game. We need to let 2k Sports waste their money so EA can get what they deserves. 2k Sports is going to singlehandedly ruin MLB games.

It did not recognize my old files! I will try again later tonight.

As far as old stadiums and teams, I have to spend some time fishing around. I am missing something!

Hmmmm. So Baa7 this is the USER controlled pitchers? One thing that really bugged me was the inability to throw a ball when throwing a pitch on the corner. Everything was too spot on.

If so, I'll have to do this.

Do you happen to have a backup roster for MLB2k5 that you used?
Yup, User pitchers only. And if you drop the control rating by some amount that’s easy to remember -- 50% -- it’s easy to raise them back up if you’re doing a trade or whatever. And I dropped my 5th starter’s FB control rating by 75%. He's got the fastest FB on the team, but his control is 11 or something -- very fun trying to get him to throw a strike with it.

I’ve got my default edited roster, yes. It have the batters all edited as well as the fielders though. I spent several days adjusting their batting ratings because I came up with my own ratings system. I felt they needed more contact and less power, given I was seeing too many K’s, along with too many fly balls and not enough grounders. Anyway, they work great for me and play a mean game of baseball IMO, so yes I have them as an Action Replay save.

I agree they are looking to cash in around the buzz of the WS, I just don't think it's because of who they could put on the cover as the main reason why they are selling it again with slight changes. I'm sure they would have loved another RS/Yanks series to occur so that their would be even more hype for the game.

As it is, baseball is somewhat of an afterthought for alot of people now. Myself included to a certain extent.

That using Classic and/or Meter pitching though? CPU bunts work fine with K-zone pitching.

Is this KZone or classic? They had bunting in KZone, but none in classic.

I Dont even want to start thinking about how MLB 2k6 is going to be. I really hope its good because without MVP this year I am really doubting 2k6. Just look at Madden without NFL 2k series and thats all I have to say.
