If I remember correctly the Camera angles s*cked in the original. Did they make any changes there or are the options the same?

Re: MLB 2K5 WS Edition Impressions Thread
I haven't seen anyone mention if the franchise bugs have been fixed. I am mainly talking about the confidence, injury, and pitchers/fielders having their health reset after a game. Anyone noticed if these are fixed this go around?"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. Re: MLB 2K5 WS Edition Impressions Thread
Candyman,
Sorry if I came off like I was being hard on your post. I just didn't get it, that's all, being that your post was somewhat prophetic (but it's still in the air if the prophecy proves true, at least as far as bugs/glitches are concerned).
Jim and others w/ the game,
Are there still those automatic "Web Gem" catches in the game, or have they been taken out. Also, does ev batter's swing still have that same canned animation that has their body/head turning towars the left feild line after every swing. Also, any new camera angles?
Thanks.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Originally posted by candyman56The game is not that boring to me, it's like a breath of fresh air. Now, go play MVP Baseball for 2-3 years and talk about boring. Granted MVP was solid this year with gameplay and other features, I just was bored.
I didn't own the previous edition of this game, so maybe I'm not too aggravated with 2K/Kush with this release. I could care less for Pennant and WS mode but they are a nice addition when I get bored with GMCareer.
I am peeved at these rosters. They are older than 8/27, I know this because this was the date that Matt Lawton was traded from the Cubs to Yankees. WSE gets released 10/19, how come they couldn't get these rosters updated around the end of September? I think this has to be the biggest thing on my part since I don't know as much about the problems from before.
I have read here through over 21 pages that a lot of the bugs have been cleared up. I think that this is what we expected, them to fix the bugs.
I think the game is worth the price of admission especially if you never played this before. I am working on a set of rosters and will try to get them to be better than this crap offering. Even for those that have the original, I think they fixed enough things from reading here and added a few things.
The rosters are my beef and I know others are mad that old save files don't work.
You misunderstood my quote. I was talking about Manager mode not the whole game experience. Also, a majority of the bugs are not fixed and that pisses me off!“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: MLB 2K5 WS Edition Impressions Thread
A few extra questions:
Is the glitch fixed where the camera view does not allow you to view the play at 2nd base when a runner is attempting to steal 2nd?
Can you adjust season length in Franchise Mode?
Can you view CPU vs. CPU games in Franchise mode?
Thanks, guys!Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

I believe you can adjust the length of the season.
Not sure about the third question but you can in the manager mode, so I think you could in franchise, I will check later for you!Last edited by nemesis04; 10-20-2005, 03:53 PM.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Do you mean lock on by the outfielder. I think it is, but there may be an option to turn that off, if I remember, but I don't have the game anymore.Comment

Re: MLB 2K5 WS Edition Impressions Thread
I think he means those catches where you see the outfielders is going to (or have to) dive for the ball and they come up with the catch EVERY TIME. If that is not what was meant I aplogize for speaking for the poster, but I personally hated that about the game.Comment

These "web gems" were automatic gimmies that some suggested the developers stuck in the game to make more exciting. Kinda like a gimmick pre-programmed into the defensive code of the game.
Now emjay, what you described goes into more detail about one of the many feilding "issues" with this game (the original version). The "web gems"
were always automatic catches, and the general sliding and diving plays made by CPU outfeilders always ended up as catches. The problem is that Kush only had about 8 different animations for feilding. So there was no "bobble" or "drop the ball I'm diving for" animations. Which is somethign we saw in MVP. Basically, if they dive, they catch it. That IS a part of the larger problem, but specifically I was referring to the "web gems," which may not be called "web gems" any longer since that term is probably owned by ESPN.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: MLB 2K5 WS Edition Impressions Thread
Well thanks for all your hard work guys, especially jim and nemisis. I hardly played the first 2k5 at all cause of the glitches and never played a franchise in it so the inability to load old files doesn't bother me. I'm gonna head down to my Gamestop right now and buy this, even though it's probably a mistake.
The pennant mode, etc is something that I'll probably like a ton so what the hell, I need my baseball game fix."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
