Yeah, it is kind of funny but my biggest complaint about the game was CLEARLY still in the game. I really want this game to be good. I used to love playing World Series 2k3 and 2k4. Just for fun, I rented MVP and suddenly the bar was set much higher. The two, gameplay wise, didn't even compare. I am not an EA junkie. I just call it like I see it. And yes, I did play 2k5 last year...for about five minutes.

          Re: blt 4 is up!

I started with MVP for the PC (fully modded now) in September (talk about Johnny-come-lately) and couldn't believe how great a game it played. In my opinion, no comparison with 2k5 and people can disagree if they want.

Everyone wants this game to work, me especially as I spent hours upon hours doing rosters last year and posting them here.

Arguments are being made while going through freezeframes. Long winded arguments. Nobody wins. And it doesn't do any good to do these long rebuttals based on how good people think they are.

Hell I want 2k6 to be good too, as I have no choice. I hated 2k5 late year. Granted, I bought it and played it less than 20 times, it was too easy to throw MVP in and play a game that I didn't have to spend hours and hours tweaking. I even wish I still had a PS2 so I could get MLB but at this point, it's pointless to go out and buy a PS2. If MLB 2K6 sucks, I'm definitely getting a PS3 to go along with my 360 so I'll be able to play MLB next year.

I'm just gonna say a few words. The running looks funny and the bat looks like a long skinny stick. I loved the first series for this MLB game. Than after that it all went down hill for me. I switched to MVP 04 and loved it.05 was even better. It is going to be hard for me to go back but since this is the only mlb game for xbox in 06 I will have to give it a try. I love 2k games FB and BB but it just seems they missed the boat in MLB. I dont know if it is the developer or what. Anyways just wanted to add my two cents.

I don't understand where screenshots determine an option to have the strikezone off or not. No videos nor screenshots show anything about possibly turning off turbo or ball trail, but they're both possible.
All of the screenshots have shown the strike zone indicator, and since the option to turn it off wasn't in the game last year, I'd guess it's still not there.

The comparison to turbo and ball trail isn't very good. Those had an off option last year, the strikezone didn't.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I fail to see what's wrong with the bats. Of all the graphical issues in the game (players looking like plastic models instead of people, stadiums not designed correctly, etc.) the bats should be the last thing to complain about. We can all argue and blame Kush and VC for "not listening to us", but that's a lie. They listen. They listen to people whine about "stick bats" and the Cardinals uniform not being the exact shade of red (this happened before and after MLB 2k3 and 2k4 were released. I'm pretty sure the NFL series fell victim to it as well) Not to mention the rediculous garbage about "create a shoe" with NBA 2kx. People complained and complained and complained, and finally VC came to the rescue. Rather than put up with all of the whining about shoes not being brand name and the right design, they decided to waste valuable time implementing an option (a very large one) to create your own shoe. I'm sorry, but that is by far the dumbest thing I have ever seen in any video game-- let alone a sports game that went from simulation on dreamcast (2k, 2k1, and 2k2) to horrible arcade junk on 2k4.

My point is that a lot of people (I suspect mostly those who either don't know much about baseball, or didn't play last years game) are hung up on the idea that features should rule the game. The more the better, right? Well, no. In fact, seeing as Kush can't even make franchise mode playable without seeing pitchers batting in the American league, I think less features are warranted. Notice we haven't seen any information about franchise? Yeah, what a surprise. Kush probably spent all their time implementing IE and payoff pitching rather than fix problems that nearly render franchise (which most people play) useless. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about those features. But, if this game is only good for playing exhibition games, I won't be buying it. And I surely won't be purchasing a 360 just for that version if any serious problems remain.

Yeah I didn't buy it either, or even rent it. I just remember seeing on the boards that the option was put back in there.

And I also agree with the bats, I always thought they looked perfect. What do some people expect, players to walk up to the dish with a 2x4?

I'll just say this: I don't think i'll like swing stick but I do like streamlining and more control of the classic batting option using the right analog stick.

I guess ppl are expecting them to look like RBI Baseball on NES.

One of the interview questions talks about the lack of playoff atmosphere and again we are told next year. How hard can this really be to implement!

They are just too long and skinny. Look at a screen shot that gives you a good view of the bat, then check out a real bat, or a pic on the web of a player holding a bat. Obviously it doesn't really affect gameplay, but it's just annoying and looks weird...
