They look pretty good to me... Almost exact... Complaining about that is crazy...

The bats in 2K5-6 are in fact 3-4 inches too long. But I agree: it's a minor complaint at best.

I guess you missed my post right after it. You really seem to hit me right in the nose whenever it hurts, don't you?

As for the strikezone issue... there is more than likely going to be an option to turn it off, as we saw it in the World Series Edition.

Here's the thing about MLB 2K5 (and I think I said it once on the MLB Show boards): There are too many negatives in this game, and in many ways I see a lot of positives in MVP outweigh the ones in MLB 2K5. But, for some reason, no matter how many positives and negatives there are, it all boils down to... for me... which game do I have more fun playing? There's some intangible effect in MLB 2K5 that, regardless of what rocks/sucks, I had a much better time playing it. 600+ games can prove that. I mean sure... I've played my 90 games of MVP 2005, and my 20 games of MVP 06 NCAA Baseball, but there was something about last year's game that made me want more.

That said, I still have to look at SCEA's game this year, and see if I can enjoy playing that for an eternity. If not, I'll be looking at MLB 2K6. IMO, it will get the same playing time out of me as MLB 2K5... but if there aren't enough features that are appealing me enough to play that much more of the game over MLB 2K5, then I just won't buy a new game, and I'll stick to my MLB 2K% franchise.

Yah, that was kind of my point. It's just annoying. It's not like I think to myself, "Crap, they didn't fix the bats. Welp, not buying THIS game..." Haha. There are definetely more important issues, but I would like to see them address this eventually.

Blzer, you just said it...."for me".....That's what it's all about. You can't sell this game to people though and then admit that it's got a ton of problems, which it does.

I played MLB2k5 until the frustration just got to me too much, and I was disappointed because of the potential. I picked up MVP for the PC in September and am still amazed at how solid a game it is (got it fully modded). It's, in my opinion, leaps and bounds above 2k5, but then again that's just my opinion.

You can't criticize, or take issue, or try to convince people who don't see what you see in the game as it's all called perspective. All different.

Hopefully we'll all be playing ball quite soon and then we can all post our dislikes in the "glitches threads" and we won't even agree on those sometimes.

I'm not trying to persuade anybody to buy this game. It would be nice if people didn't avoid it just because of a strangely bad rep that was created in one year for Kush and baseball... but, that's not my intent when I make these posts. Mine are to correct people's mistakes, and show them things that weren't actually ever there. The throws are the same? Uh huh. Now, I can step off when you say that they aren't great throwing animations, but it's funny for some people to say that they throw like girls, because the one animation that made people say it last year, so far, hasn't been apparent in this year's game.

Definately true, I hate how they changed that. And alot of players had the bat 'magically' coming through their hand(s) which looked sloppy. A-Rod's stance in 2k3 and 2k4 looked amazing, then he in 2k5 they ruined it. He had about 3 inches of the bat sticking out the end and it showing through his hands. Booooo.

But again, a minor complaint. Not a game killer or anything.

Inside Edge is not a bell and whistle thing. I don't understand why you guys are saying that. Okay... don't buy the scouting reports. Intangibly, players will hit like their real life counterparts, and pursue realistic tendencies. This was requested upon SO much for basketball, and I know that this was a very important thing to express individuality in baseball, so I remember when I made a huge post suggesting this. Many agreed, and now it's in. With it, you can take the option to buy the scouting reports.

I do not see how this is a gimmick, or how it makes it "bells and whistles". It's a HUGE gameplay enhancement.

At any rate, I suppose that High Heat isn't that good, nor is any really old baseball game back on the PSX, because their animations were crap and lacking.

look i really wanted to like the game last year but it was crap... the animations are what makes the gamplay... when i play mvp baseball i feel like i am doing the throwing and hitting and running.. when i play the sega game it feels scripted.. i remember last year when a grounder was hit to jeter and i went to get it and the animation was so crap looking that i was disgusted.. then the swin animations are the worst in video game history... i beleive that the animations suffer due to the fact that they are motion caputered therefore they will move robotically... the player models are to big as well ... i just modded my mvp05 of the pc and i am willing to bet that it will blow whatever sega and kush take out.. the only saving grace for this game is if they alter the game for the 360... for xbox and ps2 there is no way this game gets more then a 8.0

the inside edge thing is more of a sim type of play.. like you are more managing then playing.. it may be a great addition but what does it mean if the gameplay and animations stink...

All animations for the majority of games are motion captured. I think what you mean is that the animations of 2K did'nt tie in together well or lacked fluidness. Thats the reason for the robotic movements. It all depends on how many frames are added to a single animation to make it seamless.

As for your last comment, how can IE be more for managing than playing? With IE, you buy scouting reports, all it does it give you and edge when "Playing" the game.

I agree with you on the animations. Its the reason why I could'nt get into HH at all. Bad graphics and bad animations. I'm not much of a graphic whore but I do like to see graphics that make the game look somewhat real. As for MLB 2K6, I still dont understand why ppl are concerned for the graphics and animations. I think they look fine IMO. No complaints from me. Sure, the tranistional animations may look robotic but its not as bad as most make it out to be.
