yea i have. it doesnt freeze anymore. i got a VIP on there and everything. the game works fine after reformatting. be sure u have a memory card or youll lose everything youve saved

ok...i understand how to reformat and everything. i have a question for you guys that have done it and had it work. after you reformat can you save MLB saves on your memory card without the game locking up?? in other words is it the actual saves that are corrupt or is it just saves on the hard drive?? im asking because if i cant save a franchise on the memory card without it locking up, i wont even worry about it. ill just play online til a patch is released.

Pratt that's normal on that board for them to delete posts. When World Poker Tour came out, a bunch of folks posted on that board how the online mode was messed up and they deleted the topics, posts, and everything from that forum. The only posts left were the ones that propped the game. I'd say they are trying to do that with the MLB posts, but they're coming in to fast for them to stop all of them.

LOL, your right. Thanks for the info brother. The complaints are flying in fast and furious at the 2K boards.

I was able to play a full game with just the stadium music and 2kbeats off.Then i tried to do it with a Vip and what do you know it froze.Did you guys who shut off the fireworks and replays also did you create a VIP and did it still work with the VIP with all that stuff shut off

Good question. I would like to know this as well. If the actual save is corrupt, I am not even bothering with reformatting.

i tried to with all 2kbeats off, fireworks off, replays off and with a VIP. the only way i was able to get a full game in was to take off my HD.

Can you take off the HD to play the game and then put it back on when the game is over to save it. Would that work?

When you played without the HD did you still have all the music turned on?

That was mentioned earlier. Not a good idea to re-attach your HD while the system is running. It might ruin the HD or the 360.

I have an experience that leads me to believe that in my case the disc I had was itself faulty. I pre-ordered the game and picked it up when it came out. My first game froze in the 8th. The second froze in the 3rd. Every other time I haven't been able to get past the end of the top of the 1st or the first home run of the game, which ever occurs first.

I returned my game to the place where I purchased it and was able to get my money back (this is because the manager has been one of my best friends since I was 5 and he also thought the freezing issue was horrible).

I figured I would give it a shot and buy the game again at my local Target, thinking maybe a different batch of games would not have the same issues. I have so far played through 10 full games with the new disc without having a freezing issue.

I did NOT format my hard drive nor did I remove it to use only the memory card. I only deleted the MLB files that I had put on there with the first game and started "fresh" with the new disc. I re-created the VIP file with the same name as before and have been using it. I am not playing offline, either.
I have also turned my 360 off after playing games, turned it off and come back later without freezes.

I know this may be nothing more than a coincidence and I may very well encounter freezes at any time. However, so far this different disc has solved my problems. Getting a replacement disc from the same place I bought the first one may not have worked either since the batches of discs were most likely related.

I also think that it is a disk issue. I picked up my copy from my local Gamestop and have been playing it daily since tuesday and I have incontered none of th freezing that people have been talking baout. I have played well over 200 innings now with out any problems at all as far as freezing is concerned.

everything worked fine for me after reformatting. neither the hard drive or the memory card were corrupted. basically a bad batch of games were released without being tested properly. maybe 2k shouldve stuck to the original release date to avoid this problem

Do you guys think that if the saved MLB files are deleted from the HD and then you use a replacement disk that this might work with out formatting the HD?

College hoops has many of the same issues, albeit with less freezes, but still major issues with replays and such, reformating or not using the hard drive also fixes these problems for some people. If it was the discs faults with this game, they still haven't figured that out because brand new copies have the same issues. It seems too much of a coincidence, I still think it's how the games are programmed myself as opposed to the media. I think we will see these problems forever with this game until they release a patch over live that works, or alter the game code on future discs, which isn't very common.

What would cause my game disc to work on my 360 but not on my brothers 360? This is very puzzling to me.
