Still the same swing animations, already turns me off. I'm hoping we can be surprised though.

i thought most of it looked pretty good, throwing animations, the way the catcher framed the catch, batting animations like you said could use some work but definately looks better than last yr to me.

To me, the cloth physics look very plastic like and throws things off. I thought the players moved better in the field. I still need to see more with the swing animations to make a comment.

The overall fluidity of the players is still not as good as the ones from last years version of the show on the ps2.

The animations look 100 times better than in the past. How it equates to gameplay only time will tell.

Agreed Snaz16. Let's hope the gameplay takes a huge leap. What appears in these videos would be fine with me if the gameplay takes a huge leap.

I liked what I saw. Could it be that I will not only have 1 good baseball title but 2. I was impressed with what I saw. The swing animations are not perfect and I doubt that they will be changed from the video we saw, but they do look better.

Man, that game looks like a totally different company product from what I saw last year. Though it's not perfect realism, the whole joint looks a lot more polished. The batting looks more realistic because the bat is contacting the ball. The physics of the ball are great too. I love what I see. Sexy on the real. Even the running is human looking. It has that atmosphere that reminds me a lot of NBA 2K7 when I first saw the video. I think you guys might be in for a killer.......

I agree this game is starting to look like real people running around not robots. I am holding out to see some game coverage but I could be going to get a 360 just for this game

I think it look really good too! I love that they have players doing what they do before they get to the plate. Also, they got Willis pitching down. And Johan looked real in that close up. Still early, but I like what I so. I think it will be soild game, will it better than the SHOW who knows. But I am not buying a PS3 for one game lol

EG, sorry to burst your bubble, but the swing animations are completely different. I've played 2K5 and 2K6 long enough to tell you this... the simple fact that their weight is back while they're making contact is enough for me to see that they have changed.

Unfortunately, they're not what I had hoped they would be like still, and that still does anger me a little bit.

I do like the little things, though... like you can see Santana, Johnson, and Swisher have their fingers sticking out of their gloves, Schilling's hat is dirtied up, Pierre holding onto his batting gloves, the bats look sweet (especially with the concavity at the end), the players with sunglasses, the baggy pants Mark Teahen is wearing, the new vent helmets (look at Garciaparra) finally a realistic looking double-play animation, two-handed catches, the way players seem to actually look at the ball, and Matsui's walk out of the batter's box leads me to believe that there are some sort of special nuances in the game, including for home runs.

Gameplay-wise, I can't make too much stuff out yet. The pitcher is backing up home plate on fly balls with a runner on third... that is a plus.

I like the graphics, but two problems: 1) The upper-body cloth should be re-worked. Schilling's jersey looks like his rib-cage outline. 2) It doesn't look like a smooth 60 FPS.

Ive been playing MLB2k forever myself, and I must agree with EG, swing animations still look a bit untouched, they do look a tad better, but thats it a tad.

It's a Gamespot vid. You'll be able to see it.

What I don't like is that every player that I've seen has had a one-handed swing. That's not too bad, but whatever. I also didn't like Jeter's stride... but maybe Jeter just strides like that? Because I don't believe Matsui had the same stride. We'll see with gameplay footage later, though. And just a minor gripe, but the way that they roll over with their hands out in front of them looks a little awkward... it's like they quickly slow down their swing for the roll-over. Of course, that can only be seen by slowing down the video.

What I LOVE (and this is for you FF and EG) is that they now swing with their weight back. That's automatically a MAJOR difference. Other major improvements to the swing are that they go with their lower body before their upper body. In other words, they begin their pivoting of the back foot and opening up their hips before they start bringing their hands through. By contact point, they are squared toward the pitcher with their belly button, and the bug is squished. At contact point in 2K5 and 2K6, this was not the story, and they seemed to nearly be all arm at this point and nearly flat-footed. When they follow through, they don't end up breaking at their front toe and impossibly sliding both feet toward the first base line. They get out of the box realistically.

What things would I like them to change? Well, if the strides are an issue, that's one thing. That and two-handed swings. And then I would also like to see a more compact swing than they have. Granted, it is more compact than last year, but not like 2K3.

But you guys have to believe they are different. I only wish I was an expert .gif creator so that I could prove this to you guys, but I know what I'm talking about (not intended to sound like an egomaniac or to say that you guys aren't capable of seeing differences). I'm just saying that I have slowed down the swings in 2K5 and 2K6 enough to see the major difference.
