As for players in slumps, they normally don't change their swing. Perhaps they'll change their approach, but normally their swing will stay the same. At least, from what I've seen. Their aggressiveness may vary as well.
Nope disagree ask Tony? You go into slumps because of your swing being off. So you have to fix that by changing what you are doing wrong. Most batters change their swings once they get in the majors. Just depends on the batting coach too! That and footing position along with hands and where they should be during your swing.

Last years trailer looked good like this years trailer, and don't forget the final product was something that scared many.

2k6 was horrible...from the zombie cartoon player models to the animations..

Just from the simple video and the new screenshots, it looks to be better already. And with the history of 2ksports marketing, I'm sure the video is from a earlier build just to tease the crowd. Its a nice preview none the less...
Shadows we usually see eye to eye, but I have to disagree with you on this one man. I like MVP, The Show, and have enjoyed the 2K series up until the crap the last 2 years from KUSH. Don't get me wrong, they had some nice ideas but really horrible execution if you ask me.

i like the videos, doesn't even look like the same game to me, i just hope though that if there is a runner on 2nd with two out and a ground ball is hit to the 2nd baseman that he simply tosses the ball to 1st for the 3rd out and doesn't throw to 3rd to try and get the runner out over there

Yeah, like I said... their approach. But a swing is not only so hard to change after doing the same thing 20 years of your life (with a little bit of refining), but any difference in your swing itself would have to be major to consider it a change.

Most hitters that are in slumps tend to begin to over-swing and swing at too many pitches alone. Because of over-swinging, they tend to extend, swing early, and pull out. From there, they change their approach a bit. They take more pitches, look at one spot in the zone, begin to swing 90%, stay closed longer, perhaps choke up, widen their stance, stride less, and/or try to go opposite field. Hell, sometimes they'll just bunt a couple of times a series just to see the ball better. That's not necessarily the swing itself, but it's just the entire approach as a whole.

Changing your swing in a minor adjustment would probably involve using the tee, and most adjustments during the regular season are made mid-game, if not in the middle of an at-bat. It takes many repetitions outside of live pitching to get into a new permanent state, especially when it comes to a swing.

I agree to that, but I still say pros change their swings. it depends on the batting coach too.

The stride & follow through look alot like A-Rod, but unfortunately that's Jeter. Still at least the swing looks alot better than last yrs game.

Yeah Jeter supposedly does mocap, at least for himself. But if thats the case I don't understand why he doesn't swing like he does in an actual game. I guess they should of made him wear the black mocap suit out there for a real game, lol.... or maybe he feels so ridiculous in the suit that he forgets his own swing.

I'm not sure that's an accurate statement about Show and MVP lovers. At least not for the majority of people. I can't really speak for either of them as I never played the Show and didn't really like MVP, but I think most of us just want to see 2K finally come through with a good game - especially those of us with only a 360.

I think the comments about this game are very tame considering what's stated during every Madden release. IMO both Madden and MLB2K are going to be under the microscope due to the license agreements and poor releases on next-gen consoles.

I thought last year's trailers looked lame and I said so, after which I got blasted by a couple of people for being too negative. It was evident in the trailers - and I pointed this out - that the ball got to the outfield too quickly; that the throwing and hitting animations showed little improvement; and I even commented that the throws were too strong. This trailer on the other hand looks pretty darn good.

                      The swings look very MVP-like.

But, that's not Matsui's swing. Not even close.

Yep, I was getting a bit of grief also as I didn't like what I saw last year, but I think this first look looks pretty good.

I agree with that. I am an avid MVP lover and I really enjoyed what I saw from this trailer. I played the show but to me it got old and I found myself back with MVP(I know that some people will say I am crazy for that but the show seemed very easy to hit on)

I am very pleased about what I saw from this, but I am holding out my judgement of it until I see the game in motion from a gameplay standpoint. I didn't play last years version but from what I hear I didn't miss much, I hated 2k5 so hopefully this game will pull me in.

I agree with this too. I was initially blown away by the Show, but soon found myself getting tons of hits on the hardest setting (15-20 a game). I either seemed to get a hit or strike out. Half of my K's showed the ball traveling through the bat during my swing, indicating that I had tracked and timed everything well...but still struck out. Needless to say, I was very upset and frustrated with this, as so many things were done right with this game.

I eventually went back to MVP and focused on making rosters from past World Series/Playoff winners. Now I am ready for MLB 2k7 and I have my fingers crossed that Brinkman shored up all of the issues he claimed to. The vid looks good and the pics look nice too.

                            I can't wait!

eh, I think Ill wait for the PS3 version and also see what The Show looks like. To me 2k7 didnt look that impressive, of course it doesnt matter as long as gameplay is good.
