    Re: Little Things Thread.....

You guys that never touched NFL2k5, now know why alot of us were such die hard NFL2k5 fans.. simply because these guys know how to make sports videogames fun and exciting.. sure they release a bad apple now and then but for most part.. these guys really know how to make a sports videogame fun and exciting..

The little things that these guys put into their sports videogames is whats makes them a notch better then the competition. I been saying this for years... great atmosphere and solid presentation is what makes sports videogaming fun and exciting to play, yes gameplay is very important so are controls but to me, atmosphere and presentation is just as important for a sports videogame....why cant some dev's see this, is beyond me!

EAsports, i still got a little love left in me for you but i hope your reading this s**t, madden needs a dose of this, bigtime

I mentioned this in the impressions thread. In my first game that I played I used my Orioles at Camden Yards. So as the cameras pan around the stadium, I notice that in the lower bowl area of the stadium, it is packed but as you go higher up in the seats the less people there are in the stadium, just like being at Camden Yard the last few years.

Another little thing that I like. In that same game I hit a monster shot with Tejada and I was looking at the replay. Both of the bnches reacted to the HR. My team was jumping up and throwing there hands in the air, the Braves were dejected. Hands on head and such. It was really nice to see.

Just noticed.......the umpires actually change position.
I've had a different ump in each of the games I've played.

The overall weather effects are awesome. When its raining it is dark and dreary. You can see the players breath. The fans are wearing coats and hats. The manager is wearing a coat. Last years game is would be 30 degrees and the fans were wearing shorts and a t-shirt.

I've played one game to date, Mets hosting the Cardinals. Glavine on the mound and I inadvertently hit two batters over the course of a few innings. Glavine gets tossed after the second one, and I get the chance to have Randolph come out an argue. I get a small morale boost. Two innings later, Carpenter hits one of my batters, and doesn't get ejected. Again I get the chance to bring in Randolph to argue, and I'm pissed, so I'm hitting the A button, and of course, Randolph ends up getting tossed.

This game is by far the best in this series....

I like being able to pinpoint where I want to throw the ball on pickoff attempts.
Also according to the manual....if the opposing manager comes out to argue, you take over the role of umpire and can eject that manager

Prince Fielder has his neck tatoo which is visable when he is at the plate!!
A weird thing......A-Rod was batting and he still had batting gloves in his back pocket but he was also wearing batting gloves.....4 gloves?

These impressions have me wanting to go get the game now. I had pre-ordered MLB the Show 07, and picked it up last nite. Saw MLB2k7 for the 360 there too, but decided not to get it...yet.

The thing is, I love the Show 07, but its on the ps2, and I dont think the Show can get any better than it is on that system. I mean, mlb2k7 has all those little things I like because of the next gen capabilities (pitchers warming in bullpens during gameplay, fans going for foul balls, players in dugouts, graphics) All that, and it seems to have improved alot over the past year.

I'll wait this out for a week or so, but if this game continues to get all these great impressions, I am just going to trade in my whole ps2 system with my 2 games (since I only use it for hitz pro and mlb) and get this game.

So far the only thing I am not liking from the impressions is that there is no auto fielding mode.

I guess if its something you're use to I could understand.
Myself...I could play either way. It doesn't really bother me to attempt to make the play myself.
That way....I can yell at myself instead of the cpu if I make a mistake:y4:

Dice K was up at the plate and as he was walking up, John Miller said "and now we will get a look at Matzuzakasan (forgive my spelling) over from Japan" i thought this was interesting especially becuase i had not change his name. the weird thing was his next at bat he was introduced as Dennis Miles.
