Re: Little Things Thread.....
Playing against the Yanks for the 1st time in exhibition mode with the indians. Bottom of the 2nd Matsui comes up and they go to the close up view and I was like holy crap... He looks just like his real life counterpart and he blinks his eyes constantly just like in real life. That is a little detail if I have ever seen one. Blinking his freakin eyes non stop THIS GAME ROCKS!!Comment

Re: Little Things Thread.....
The fans chant "Throw it back" as the game goes through the replay and you start setting up for the next batter after you give up a homer, but I haven't seen them actually throw it back.Comment

Re: Little Things Thread.....
Just played a game between the Red Sox/Yanks in the Bronx. At the beginning of the game it was overcast, but by the 6th inning the sun had come out and the sky cleared. That inning, A-Rod came to the plate for his 3rd PA and he had put sun glasses on (he didn't have them on in his previous two PA's). Also, it was really neat because I was throwing a shutout with Schilling in the 8th when he ran out of gas. I turned it over to Romero to face Giambi and Matsui. Romero walked Giambi on a 3-1 count and then with the pitch cursor going crazy (and the crowd on their feet and screaming) I left a fast ball up and over the plate and Matsui hit a flair to left that scored A-Rod as the tying run from 2nd. As A-Rod approached the plate he started pumping his fist...nice to see the emotion. The Sox ended up winning on a HR from Papi in the 9th and a Taverez 1-2-3 save."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. Rangers v. Angels in LA. The two dugouts are right next to each other in LF.
I pulled a homerun into the Angels dugout and the guys in the dugout were trying to get out of the way of the ball.
at the same time, the guys in my dugout were raising their hands up in celebration of the HR.Comment

Re: Little Things Thread.....
The crowd chatter is undoubtedly amazing. The fact (according to Brinkman) that different voice actors are used in every stadium makes it that much better.
I'm playing as the Jays and have heard some great things so far, such as...
"Hey, why are these guys in the American League?" (Game 1 @ Tampa)
"Hit it to Windsor!" (Jays @ Tigers, Game 1, may or may not relate to Toronto directly)
"Hey, Aaron, You're A One-Hit Wonder!" (About Aaron Hill, Game 1 @ Tampa)
"Go Taronna! (popular, yet stereotyped pronounciation of 'Toronto' in Canada - look up Don Cherry and 'Goin' Down The Road')" (exhibition vs. Yankees)
"The Blue Jays Should Fly South!" (Either it's a bad joke or an anti-Canadian statement, IDK)
"Strike 'em out, Hally!" (Referring to Roy Halladay, exhibition vs. Yankees)
"Big Hurt? He's still playing?!" (I think I heard something like this...Game 2 @ Tampa, Frank had two dingers BTW)
"Yay Vernon!" (A kid's voice...almost made me jump out of my chair)
Also, I think I heard what either could be considered a bad glitch or an opposing fan in a home team's stands. As the fans went through their "Blue Jays Stink!" phase as I was at bat in Tampa, a random fan just yelled out "D-Rays are Terrible!"...which was then met with more anti-Blue Jays stuff...like I said, if this was intentional, it's amazing.
Non-Jays-related chatter...
"Go Back To Double A, Betemit!" which was followed almost immediately by...
"Double A Betemit!" from another voice
"You're not goin' anywhere, Bobby!" (As Abreu increased his leadoff from first...awesome!)
"DERRRREK....DERRRREK!" (As Jeter approached the plate in Toronto...I think this was in 2K6)
There have been other instances where the heckling has entertained me, but they aren't really coming to mind. I'll keep you guys posted with any other entertaining quotes.Owner of URWL CAW WRESTLING: http://www.rantboard.net/Comment

Re: Little Things Thread.....
I almost want to say that there are fans from the opposing team in the stadium.
Not sure of it, yet, but I swear I could have heard faint claps for the Yankees when I played against the Orioles at Camden Yards."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Little Things Thread.....
Holy cow... just played a nailbiter in my Season... Reds @ Wrigley, the game goes into extra innings. Zambrano is STILL on the hill in the 11th. Score is tied, 2-2... Ryan Freel comes up to bat, with two outs.
With the count full, Zambrano fires in a fastball on the outside corner, getting Freel to strikeout. It cuts to a screen of Zambrano, looking at the Reds bench, and motioning for them to "sit down"... lol. It was freaking awesome. He then proceeded to pump his fist, and run to the dugout.
This of course upset me, so in the 12th, Griffey hit a 3 run HR to win the gameTwitter - WTF_OS

Re: Little Things Thread.....
In my last game, my shortstop threw the ball a little high over to first, high enough to make my first baseman jump to snag the ball. Once he hit the ground he did a little look back and quickly moved his back foot to touch the bag just inches before the runner touched the bag. On the replay it showed the ump hesitating on his call, starting to make the safe sign but quickly pulling it back and punching the runner out.Comment
