If you're playing as the Yankees, when you're hitting as Derek Jeter load up the hit stick but don't swing, take the pitch. He'll do that annoying thing where he shoots his butt out into the air and pretend the ball almost hit him, even if it's a strike, just like he does in real-life.

You can watch any AB from the whole game if you go to Game Summary in the pause menu. It's a small feature but still cool.

Gotta say the presentation in this game is blowing me away. If only you could combine VC's presentation with MVP's engine...

Of course if that happened, nobody would ever buy a baseball game after it because it would be damn near perfect.

How in the hell do you know who's umpin?
Bottom half of the 1st inning.

A screen comes up presenting the 4 umpires for the game.

The names are not random, either. There seems to be a good number of different umpires and according to Brinkman, they each have their own personality. After a while you'll start to recognize certain guys and if you remember how they call games then you can obviously try to work them.

Personality includes how they call balls and strikes and how quickly they'll toss a manager. I think making mistakes on the field might be part of it, but I don't know for sure.

Two guys mentioning it in one thread.

Ok, it's Nancy Erminia and she is NSFW, so that's your warning. She's hot, though (that's also a warning).

I was in a pickle with David Wright and ran between 1st and 2nd at least 3 times when finally he actually moved his body away from the tag while running to second...I thought I was seeing things but after watching the replay a few times he actually did sidestep the tag. Pretty damn cool.

I was playing an exhibition game with the rangers and Millwood was pitching. He has thrown a gem 7 2/3 1 hit 10K's. So with two out I throw an inside slider that is fielded by my 3b to retire the side. I get excited thinking that I am gonna throw a 27 up 27 down game. The lone single I gave was turned into a DP. But it isn't to be, Millwood is hurt with a strained Quad and is done for. (His stamina was at 38% before that last pitch) Anyway game goes into extras and I lose on a HR so their stat line is 1 Run on 2 Hits. It was a fun game to play

                  A couple of things...

Playing with the Padres, ground ball to second Giles moves the ball to his left hand and flips it to Greene who then barehands it and completes the double play. Beautiful.

On a close call at first the umpire goes to signal safe, stops himself and changes to an out call.

Zito throws a gem against me but is pulled in the 9th, and takes a curtin call. Too bad the crowd audio wasn't applause, it would have made it perfect.

Finally, my all-time favorite crowd thing is in the game. "Kennedy, Kennedy, Kennedy, ..."

Played my first online game last night and was blown away by how much the online presentation has been ramped up this year (last year's had zero presentation, ZERO!!!!). Looks to have just as much presentation stuff as the offline game does. In fact I saw some stat overlays during gameplay that I have not seen yet....NICE !!!

Has anybody taken the time to check out other XBL gamer's VIP files ??? HOLY CRAP !!! There is a boat load of a stuff about how they play, I'm talking some deep a$$ stuff .....DOUBLE WOW !!!

Had the announcers say something funny during my online game last night. When my opponent was batting, he switched the side of the plate that his batter was on, the announcer said something like "Did you see that, must have been some kind of optical allusion" (right after the change was made) :y4:

Last night. Subway series game in Yankee Stadium. Someone fouled a pitch straight back and it actually landed in one of the broadcast booths in the 2nd tier of Yankee Stadium. Miller and Morgan proceeded to talk about ducking out of the way and kept talking about it for about a minute or two longer.

Played my first game with the Astros at Minute Maid and it was raining so I thougth sweet, but then again I thought why isnt the roof closed. Kinda weird but cool.

Another thing I notice was the bullpen celebrations. I hit a hr with Berkman that went into my bullpen, and the guys jumped up while the ball was in flight. Also I've seen my bullpen celebrating after getting a key out.

Im using the cubs as my team of choice, playing the reds at their stadium..i held a 5-2 lead for most of the game until the 8th when they tied it up. We went into extra innings, reds ended the game with the home run smash to dead center.. fireworks galore..more then normal, and so was the fan noise..it was REALLY intense and kick *** to see even though i lost the game lol

So many nice touches in this game that just makes it flat out fun to play..im love'n it

I got my first strikeout today. What was nice about it was I jumped out of my seat and pumped my fist just like Josh Beckett did to end the inning. It was simultaneous.

Of course, I woke my wife up and she gave me the WTF look.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I was the Twins playing against the White Sox
-Johan was absolutely spectacular for me and took a no hitter into the 7th inning. I get the fist out of the 7th and joe morgan and jon miller then start talking about my no hitter. Jon Then talks about not wanting to talk about the no hitter and not jinx me and low and behold the next batter breaks up the no hitter and I am screaming at the tv and thinking to myself thats exactly what you would experience watching a real game. Real cool Touch. Afterwards the crowd gave me a round of applause for the effort. Gotta love that!!!
