    Re: MLB 2K8 Wishlist

Make the hitters head stay on the ball... I am reminded when watching
MLB 2K7 how the hitters still look funny when they swing.

-the hitter's eyes should always be on the ball.....

-make signature swings... some guys swing with the top hand coming off the bat in the follow-through, and some guys swing two-handed all the way through.

    - Make pitchers look smooth... no herky-jerky animations... more signature windups and deliveries....example- In 2K7 turnbow pitches from the windup... he should be pitching from the stretch at all times, and make him act like he does.

    - ball physics need to be worked on. The ball "floats" too much.

    - Make the flags in the stadiums blow in the actual direction of the wind... the flags in 2k7 weren't very impressive.... it would be cool to see the flag wave more realisticly... so when the wind dies down, the flag slowly stops waving and kind of wraps itself around the pole.

    - get rid of crazy wall catches... too many gary matthews' catches at the wall...

    - make stadiums look more authentic... mascots... bernie brewer going down the slide.... way too many fireworks after homeruns in 2K7.... just overall more stadium specific animations and celebrations...

    - more celebration after playoffs and clinching division.

    - make players' hands look more natural.... make the fingers bend... players look too stiff sometimes...

      - make retractable roofs actually work... if it starts raining, the sun should go behind the clouds as they roll in and the roof should start closing.... it should never rain inside of a domed stadium!

      - better presentation during rainouts... have the grounds crew come out and put the tarp on the field... make it rain hard... not just ugly looking drops here and there. It never rained hard enough in 2K7 that it should have been rained out.

      - how about snow? not a big deal, but it does happen... look at the Indians in cleveland in April... lots of snow games.

      - keep up the great work guys... I am excited for MLB 2K8 and Ben Brinkman is the MAN!

I'll keep coming up with more ideas... everytime I watch a playoff game I am inspired for more ideas for 2K8 and hope it's the best sports game ever!

Whatever you guys do...Don't change the player models. They are the best in any sports game, period.

Another thing that needs to be fixed is baserunning...

          -smoother animation is needed

          - when runners take their lead in MLB 2K7 they're almost robotic-like. Player movement needs to look smooth, not robotic...

          - there needs to be better fielding animations.

          - some throws, for example when turning a double play, look very awkward...

          - need better footplanting and throwing.

-also when pitching, I noticed a video of bill wagner pitching, but I couldn't even tell it was him because the throw didn't look very fast or intimadating.

-fastballs should look and feel fast!

I think MLB 2K8 should use the pitch meter that was in the MVP series. I'm sure Mr. Brinkman knows what I am talking about It seems like in 2K7 I can aim for a specific spot and just about hit it every time when pitching.

Pitchers get wild... not just at the end of the game, sometimes they start out wild and just don't have their regular "stuff."

I just wanna see more walks where I don't have that much control over where the pitch goes.

Not even Greg Maddux or Tom Glavine can have pinpoint control all the time!

Another issue in MLB 2K7 is ball trajectory.

              - when a player hits a homerun, sometimes it looks like it is popped up and hit a mile in the air.... this can be seen during the replays.

              - the batter will get jammed and still crank one out of the yard... or off the bat it looks like it should be caught at second base....

-hopefully Brinkman and the gang are working hard on ball physics and the flight path of a homerun.....

I know I've made tons of posts, but new things keep coming up as I'm watching the playoffs....

-one thing I remembered is there needs to be more foul balls... it seemed like in 2K7 that I couldn't just get a piece of the ball to stay "alive" with 2 strikes... this would add to the realism if I could foul off a few pitches that were on the edge of the strike zone or what have you....

-the foul balls should be nubbers past the dugouts or down the line, or hard fouls that go straight back to the net(backstop) or the commentary booth....

I was more pinpoint in MVP than on this game. I disagree with ya there.

Also another thing is if you hit a perfect spot on the black of the plate, the hitter shouldnt be able to hit it hard. On any slider ste I have used hitters can constantly hit tough pitches on the corners and hit them hard. Also, hitters are way too disciplined in this game. if a guy has F stirkeouts and F dicsipline he shouldnt be able to lay off good pitches with an 0-2 count.

This is tiny, but I'd like for a split-second delay after the ball makes contact before they transition to the fielding camera. They have this in Power Pros, they've had it in Interplay (PSX), and they have it in The Show sort of (only the camera rises up to the fielding camera instead of cutting). It's much better this way IMO.

Blzer, gotta agree with you with this, this is a key in order to make fielding the ball much easier. I love how power pro does this. I am enjoying that game everyday.

Most of the time a player knows when they have hit a homerun. I hate seeing someone take off out of the box running as fast as they can when they hit a homer. Its not as important as other things, but its one of those little things that bother me.

maybe its just me, but i think its hard to pick up the ball on grounders. i don't know what would correct that, but the ball is obscured a lot and i miss easy put outs because i can't see where the ball is going off the bat.

also, the sun in day games still needs to be toned down and the gigantic raindrops are ridiculous too. lastly, this is the third year of this next gen offering and freezing issues, DDE's, and franchise and season umplayability because of glitches are inexcusable. apologies and workarounds are okay, but it would be nice if these issues weren't issues. (got into the playoffs with the cards and couldn't get past the NLDS because of this stuff).

Hows about fixing it so that it isn't so freakin easy to hit homeruns. Right now it's just a very pretty version of Triple Play.

New Camera Angles! This is a must.....I got so bored hitting grounders in the infield and seeing that same low boring camera angle. If NBA 2K8 can have like 30 camera angles, why can't MLB 2K8 have at least 2?!
