    Re: MLB 2K8 Wishlist

I love how "MLB The show" has such great player interaction and atmosphere giving high fives and stuff after home runs. if they did this and had Joe Morgan have more then 2 home run comments it would be great.

      new pitching interface

check it.....make it like the swing -interface where you would have a white (semi-faded) circle. guys with great accuracy would have a tiny circle so you could paint pitches,,,versus guys with terrrible control might have a circle that takes up 1/3 of the strike zone

THEN with all pitchers, that circle would change based on:

      the pitch they are throwing
      the count
      from the stretch
      the game situation
his success (or lack of) against that batter (both in game and in season/franchise)

      make sense?
Bummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.

        Re: MLB 2K8 Wishlist

        1) Fix payoff pitching to more resemble the classic pitching in the Show. There should be games where the pitcher can't spot his pitches. Pitchers have way too much control in this game.

        2) Use Inside Edge for reports on hitters but get rid of having to buy reports and the unrealistic way that the data is presented. All major league teams have scouts that perform the function of Inside Edge.

        3) Much more foul balls.

        4) Have the computer take more pitches, including strikes.

        5) Better commentary where the commentators (whoever they are), talk more about events in the previous game and during the season.

        6) I'd like something like the Show where individual pitches might not be there for a pitcher in a given outing.

        7) Better modeled bullpen fatigue

        8) Just a better overall franchise mode with as many things as they can add (i.e. 40 man rosters, waiver wire, better trade model)

I just want the batting to feel more seamless...60fps should help that greatly. And work on the batting sounds, they are very unrealistic.

And a fix to Manny's Stance would be appreciated. His hands were WAY to high in 2k7, heres a clip(in quicktime so you could slow it down): http://www.swingtraining.net/clips/top10/2.mpg

Meter-throwing would completely fix this problem.

Another thing I believe I've mentioned elsewhere is that with payoff pitching (which is improved post-patch) is to make you throw balls on mistake pitches sometimes. Right now if you screw up w. the yellow circles you throw a meatball strike every time, making it very difficult to get high pitch counts for the user and really limit walks.

Another pitching change I'd like to see implemented are situational attributes. Some pitchers have great stuff but always fall behind in counts and it kills them. Some pitchers have so-so stuff but have great but pound the strike zone and never fall behind.

I think it'd be cool to have a rating for "first pitch", "even in count", "ahead in count", and "behind in count" and depending on how high the ratings are determines how fast the pitching circle moves and/or the ratings for each pitch.

So for example, Kyle Farnsworth can't throw first-pitch strikes to save his life, so he would have 65 for "first pitch" and his meter would be extremely fast (or his ratings on each pitch would drop). If he throws a strike, the circle slows down, making it easier to pitch. If he doesn't, it becomes even more difficult to pitch.

There needs to be someway to differentiate pitcher's skill because I consistently have an ERA under 2.00 with Farnsworth even though he's awful in real life despite have great stuff. I feel like there is no realistic way in any baseball game (past or present) that displays this. A pitcher is either good or bad in a video game. There's no way to represent a pitcher who has great stuff but can't quite put it all together.

These are all really good ideas. I love the meter throwing suggestion. Also, I've commonly felt that messing up a pitch should be a ball and not meat.

Definately what the guy above me mentioned. As for the meter throwing, if anyone has played MVP 06 throwing witht he right stick was a lot of fun with the meter they had.

Also, madden like create a team/uniform for sure, that was my favorite part of any madden game that nobody else seems to understand.

wow I agree 100%. A throwing meter for fielders would be cool. That's one of the things I liked about MVP.

But your idea about different ratings for different counts, wow if they could pull that off, it would revolutionize video game baseball as we know it.

Make sure that if there are gonna be two differrent batting styles Classic or analog that they both have the same features attached. Don't make it to where analog gets more foul balls just because the user is using that style. I like classic and we can't even do a defensive swing this year and that sucks. As it is now its hit or miss. Some of us still like the button swing.

I wish that you could play half a season and at the All Star Game, the players who make the All Star Team wear their respected Teams Uniforms and not all the same thing. Come on 2K Sports, make it happen and don't tell me that would be to tough because they did it one year on Sega Genisus.

Definitely smoother more fluid animations...especially in the field. The fielding control is too non responsive and doesnt feel like an extension of your movements.

MLB the Show has so much more fluid fielding control and frame rates

Add more adjustable camera angles.....I love the old style top down/High/Ariel fielding view of MLB the Show and MVP Baseball.

Add more signature windups, swings and fielding tendencies and animations

Add some random quirky things from time to time, like collisions, botched plays, reaching into the crowd to try and stab a pop fly, ect.

                            Better, tighter fielding control

I mentioned this in another post, but wouldn't it enhance pitching so much if they just offered an option to make the ball icon disappear?
MVP had something like this and it made pitching feel much more realistic, so you could only pitch to zones and not paint exactly on the corner unless you knew what you were doing.

I think the commentary in this game is some of the best out there. It has a very good somewhat realistic vibe. If your argument is that Joe Morgan is a blithering idiot in general, I agree, but this is about as good as it gets in terms of a two man video game booth. It's pretty much what a Sunday night broadcast sounds like. The rest of what you mentioned is pure fluff IMO.
