Kind of on this note, I'd like to see the circle a pitcher uses to aim be different for every pitcher. Most players possess more control in their fastball than any other pitch.

Because of that, I'd like to see the circle used to aim a fastball smaller than a changeup and curveball. You usually try and spot your fastball and just throw your curveball to a general location. So maybe the fastball target for an average pitcher is the twice the size of a baseball and the one for a curveball is maybe the size of a basketball....then the pitch could end up anywhere within that circle (or even on it's borders). A guy who walks 4-5 guys per 9 innings shouldn't be able to control his pitch as well as a guy like Maddux. I understand the speed of the meter is supposed to make this happen, but from my experience, unless my guy is really tired, I can get the timing down to locate my pitch pretty close to perfect most of the time (using pin-point)

I do like the way zone works though. I do find that pitching becomes much more challenging and realisitic using this system.

sure hope they fix the crowd audio this year. to much silence on homeruns and curtain calls, booing at the wrong times, ect. just didn't feel right at all. hope they give it some special attention this year.

-Copy the hitting interface (the swing stick and zone hitting aspect) from MVP NCAA 06.
-Copy the new base running interface from MLB The Show 07.
-Copy batter's eye from MVP series.
-Decrease pitchers' accuracy. Like Trevytrev said, breaking balls and changeups are harder to spot. That's why in real life a 3-1 count will mostly results in a fastball, unless you're Pedro Martinez who also throws change ups in that count because he has supreme confidence.

Agreed!!!! MLB07 the Show was great for this. Pitches werent always on point and this made the pitching great in the Show in my opinion

Far too many HR's...Tone down the HR's and make hitting more diverse...I swear that most runs scored were by way of HR...Also the pitching interface needs to be improved...Pitching should be more skillful

              1. My first request is to keep something already in the game....The option to play shorter seasons. I love the 40 game schedule...and have even had fun playing 10 game seasons. Please keep these.
              2. Playable minors.
              3. More of the of the ads...epecially landmarks like the Citco sign at Fenway.
              4. Better camera angles on balls hit to the outfield and homeruns. Nothing than getting a good broadcast view of a ball sailing over the fence and bouncing off something.

                Probably mentioned before:

                1. Be able to bat from behind the pitcher view! Why was this removed? It is a beautiful camera angle, let us bat from it again please.

How about better atmosphere for playoff games and pennant chasing games late in September? The crowd should go crazy during strikeouts, hits, anything exciting... maybe the crowd waiving towels or something to that affect.

                    Re: MLB 2K8 Wishlist

I'm sure these have been mentioned, but here goes:

                    1. A true zone hitting experience. Something like the 360 degree zone hitting approach in one of the ESPN Baseball games (2004??).

                    2. Fix the pitching fatigue. Pitchers gain and then lose velocity as the game progresses. There's no reason for that. Some pitchers come out of the gates throwing 95+, but that's rare in this game. Some pitchers will still throw 95+ on their 100th pitch, but in this game pitchers lose velocity with higher pitch counts.

                    3. Something needs to be done regarding pitchers accuracy. It's too accurate. Treytrev11 had a good idea above.

                    4. Better framerates. I'd love to see a silky smooth 60FPS.

                    5. Clean up some of the animations. Last year was much better than previous years, but still needed some work.

                    6. Expand the minors and franchise.

That's it for now. There are many great ideas in this thread. Hopefully the developers are paying attention to some of them.

                      Re: MLB 2K8 Wishlist

I like the suggestions. I enjoy this game very much, yes it is not perfect, but it is the most enjoyable MLB game that I have wanted to keep playing in this series. I miss MVP especially since its progress was getting so close.

Adapt the pitching meters from MVP. Those were less forgiving and actually instigated walks. Institute from "The BIGS" the marker that shows up when the ball is completely missed on the meter. That could increase user walks, and game walks. Yes, it is a cheesy addition, and actually helps those that swing constantly, but it will increase walks, and if you want to hit it, you will already know where it is at.

Stadiums, I want to switch my stadium. I would love to use the classic stadiums, but I want the option to put any team in any stadium. I do not want to play as the Red Sox just so I can play in Fenway. I could care less what logos are there.

While on stadiums, I want the scoreboards to reflect what is actually going on. The stadiums like Fenway that have in progress games, SHOW ME THE SCORE FROM OTHER GAMES!!! The technology is there. If I get updated ads in some games, I sure as heck can get updated scores in the stadium scoreboard or walls.

This is minor stuff, but it is stuff that would add to the experience.

                        Re: MLB 2K8 Wishlist

not sure if this has been mentioned, but i've always thought baseball lends itself to a superstar mode like in madden. this is especially true for pitchers and would be even better if next year's game includes all of the minor league teams. you would progress through the minors based on your performance and eventually get the call up to the show. some sort of training minigames could be used for you to develop new pitches or gain velocity, endurance or control.

when your player is getting tired in the later innings and the manager comes out to the mound, you could have the option of talking him into letting you finish the inning game, or to get out of a jam. the manager would still act on his instincts, but your performance when allows you to keep the ball would increase or decrease the likelihood that he'll listen the next time. in a sense you would earn the trust. also talking the manager into an extra inning could lead to an injury.

the training minigames mentioned above could also be used for rehabbing injuries. the manner in which your injuries are managed would effect whether or not your career looks like mark priors or roger clemens.

all the while, managers determine your role based on performance. this could mean naming you the opening day starter and staff ace or you could be demoted to the bullpen or even send to the minors to straighten things out. you would also have to negotiate your own contracts and be subjects to trades based on your performance and the needs of the team. you could even demand a trade if unhappy about the current situation.

overall i just think there would be a lot of potential for this mode. it could work for everyday players as well, but i see if working better for starters and closers, because it would allow you to go deeper into there careers based on the fact that for starters who only have to play about 32 games per years and for closers the games would be simmed up to when you get the call in the 9th. it would be a major challenge to see if you could get to 300 wins or say 500 saves.

p.s. one other suggestion for next year. for classic swing mode, map the swing to the right trigger. the depth of the trigger would make it much easier for a check swing.

Make the bat-on-ball sound perfect! In MLB 2K7 it sounds like a bull whip or a firecracker. It will greatly add to the authenticity of the game. There's nothing like the sound of the crack of the bat.

Don't know if this is asking too much, but to add on to what you said, why not record the sounds of the ball hitting the bat at different locations of the bat and then program those sounds into the game. So the sound of hitting the ball off of the handle is different from the barrell and is different from the end. And even as far as hitting the ball off of the barrell, there is a different sound when you roll over on a curveball and hit it off the barrell then there is when you crush a 95 MPH fastball. At minimum there should be 4 or 5 different sounds. Use the default one for the routine type contact and throw in the others when the situation dictates.

**But don't go too dramatic that everytime you hear the "crush" sound it's an automatic HR, this could be the sound for a deep fly, a line drive or a hard hit grounder.
