Re: 2K8 Brinkman Interview
That being said High Heat's strike/ball option while pitching is my choice for best pitching interface in a video game.
There's no way you could avoid having realistic pitch counts unless you wanted to throw every pitch down the middle. And in that game you'd get burned for that."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: 2K8 Brinkman Interview
Why can't they add "one pitch" mode like OOTP has? For example, you could come up to the plate with batterXYZ and the you immediately would see a 3-1 count while waiting on the pitch. Your next batter might face (talking about when you actually have the option to swing) a 2-0 count, the batter after might be facing an 2-2 count. That way the pace of the game is a little faster, and the pitching stats will be more realistic in the end. The idea being that user interaction is good, but the less the better. It's implemented very well in OOTP, so I know it can be done.Comment

IMHO we won't see a solid one pitch mode until we get a solid manage-only mode. I'm not holding my breath on manage-only, its a shame that this series hasn't jumped onto that bandwagon. It's essentially the only way I play baseball games.

Re: 2K8 Brinkman Interview
ASB had one-pitch mode too.
The idea is nice. I'd welcome it. But I hope they could find a way to get real pitch counts without going to that extreme."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: 2K8 Brinkman Interview
YankeePride,
I was thinking about "Control Options" where you could assign defense or offense control of any player to yourself or the cpu...This included the pitcher...
I had the cpu control the pitcher on defense only, and I controlled all the fielders and batters...It would lean towards more sim pitching stats..
The Generated Count feature included batting and pitching...
