Jeter's 3 year splits: .325 AVG, 45 HR's 240 RBI, .398 OBP.
Reyes' 3 year splits: 284 AVG, 38 HR's 196 RBI, .336 OBP.

It is total bullcrap that the Kush Games' ratings guys supposedly look at players' 3 year averages. What they do, is they check out who their cover boy is and then give him the highest ratings in the game. And most every player on both the big East teams and the two LA teams.

There are more factors that go into ratings than what you presented. Triples, walks, strike outs, stolen bases, speed, etc. All in which Reyes exceeds Jeter in the past 3 years.

Reyes stolen bases are double, his strikeouts are 20-30 less per year on average... he has more walks, more runs, and 3 times the amount of triples the past two years.

Fielding is about the same, though he had the better year last year.

If baseball game's (final average) was just on the stats you listed... I dont think any of us would want to play those games.

This has been addressed. A player's age, salary, and potential now play a big role in establishing a player's trade value in Franchise Mode. You cannot trade Durham for Francouer straight up in 2K8, even though their overall ratings are the same. If you want to pry someone like Tulowitzki away from the Rockies, be prepared to overpay big-time.

In case anyone's wondering, I work for Blue Castle, not 2KLA. Don't bother asking me about the ratings, I had nothing to do with them.

Hanley - who should have been the NL MVP - before Rollins. In fact, Jeter before Rollins as well. Plus I'd personally put Reyes before Rollins, but that's just me. Other that that, you're exactly correct.

So are computer teams aware of a player's potential or might they also be wrong?

I ask because it seems to favor the CPU if they know that Tulowitzski is going to be a great player.

That being said, I think the CPU needs some advantage in trade logic. We humans will always find a way to take advantage so give them a shot.

If this new logic works as it should it might get me into trading in franchise mode again. I don't trade anymore because its never realistic.

I got an email from the roster guy in which he stated that Gametaps ratings are all inaccurate. He doesn't know which build they got, but its wrong. I don't think Gametap was authorized to post ratings as i'm pretty sure thats IGN's thing and 2K sent IGN the official roster.

But I still say don't fret too much about overall ratings - they really aren't the best way to judge a player's skills. Hanley is my favorite player to use in this game.

I don't know about that. The D'Backs, Mets, Cubs and Phillies are much better IMO

Ok fellas this is a huge amount of bias talking. My Stros are gonna be back in the mix soon enough. Yes our pitching sucks but our bats are gonna step up.

I think the bias you are referring to is coming from you and your fan goggles. The stros pitching sucks and their lineup is not better then the phillies, or mets. they are closer to the middle of the pack then a contender
