Pepsi, is the choice right now for me. though I do like coke. Pepsi has a sweeter taste. We are going to see it difference Knight, but that is cool. I just think it will get tiring seeing the same thing every year, but I do agree I never even finish a season, so that is cool too. It is all good. I think the Stadiums in the 2k will be great too.

Re: No CitiField at Shea Stadium in MLB 2K8
Can we compare the size of the two competing dev teams?
How big is 2K LA vs SCEA San Diego? Maybe the Show has a huge team. It seems like they've gotten so much work done over the last year. KushGamer said MLB2K8 contracted BlueCastle to finish tightening up some code.

I didn't lol. And if this were the Madden forum, half the first page would be full of locked threads. There is a disproportionate amount of negativity being leveled in this thread than in The Show's forum, that's undeniable. Perhaps missing a background building or someone's stance being a couple inches off warrants everything being said among baseball fans (I'm a casual fan); to me the situation isn't unlike the GTA4/Saints Row 2 situation that's developed on various sites. Now that GTA's back, every other sandbox game has to suck. GTA4 likely will be the best sandbox game to date, but I don't see why GTA fans have to feel threatened that another game may do a certain something better. Nor do I understand why people want the two games to be the exact same experience.HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Re: No CitiField at Shea Stadium in MLB 2K8
wow, 10 pages lol. i thought for sure this turned into a vivk vs young debate ha ha.
on a serious note, if MLB the show didnt have citi field in the background i wouldnt mind mlb 2k not having it. i figure it would prob be too much drama for 1 year. the fact is the show does have it and im still playing in the same shea stadium as i did in mlb 2k6. it just hurts having to but this game when i want to buy the game that the developers went that extra mile on. unfortunatly i dont have a ps3 but the fact is, the show has citi and it makes me feel like they wanted 100% accuracy where as 2k doesnt have it and im not boycotting the game because of it but i feel they came up short.Comment

At least that's the way I see it. It's kind of like in the football forums. Most people lavish the 2K football series with a ton of love (ie: The Show) while Madden is blasted for it's many issues (ie: The 2K series).

Re: No CitiField at Shea Stadium in MLB 2K8
Well if you're going to watch any REAL Met telecasts....you'd better get used to it, the stadium will be getting worked on until AFTER the 2008 season(and you never know about construction delays)....so you'll see those cranes all season long as they will probably be using them to hoist the seating sections in one by one.
......and like I said earlier....by the time the cranes are out.....I should be finishing maybe my second season in the franchise and it will be time for the 2009 version of the game and I'll be playing IN Citifield....so..
...Pepsi/Coke right?

Re: No CitiField at Shea Stadium in MLB 2K8
I can understand how missing a background building structure may be a "sign of neglect" to some, but that's kinda pushing it imo. To my understanding both games aren't going to be exactly the same; one's going to have things the other doesn't. I've read people saying things like superstar players' stances being somewhat off - it's okay for that to be the case w/The Show, but not okay for 2K8? I've read people making a big deal about the minor league players/stadiums and the amount of detail/lack of detail; I haven't heard of minor league teams/stadiums being mentioned for The Show. I guess minor leagues are a big issue to some because they were in MVP. And I've seen people trying to compare how the minor leagues stack up to the real life minor league venues. If they aren't in The Show I could care less - but shouldn't that be factored in when people are talking leveling charges that 2K's lazy, did nothing from last year, or doesn't care? I'm really the last person to be speaking on baseball games, but things seem pretty disproportionate from my perspective.
I understand that The Show is a better game, and it shouldn't be expected that it's going to nail every aspect. So people aren't going to flip if the player models aren't perfect, or some other small issue. But it doesn't seem like there's some huge disparity between the games, as there is with the basketball games - at least at this point. But that means 2K8 deserves the nitpicked criticism because it rates a "B", and The Show rates an "A"? Or is it still payback for 2K6? Or exclusivity? I guess that's part of it too.
At least that's the way I see it. It's kind of like in the football forums. Most people lavish the 2K football series with a ton of love (ie: The Show) while Madden is blasted for it's many issues (ie: The 2K series).
That's the way I see it.
But since we're talking about Madden, I believe if 2K was being discussed in the Madden forum as much as The Show is discussed in this forum, it wouldn't last a page before getting locked. Not saying that that's what should occur here, because I feel the game's quality will likely speak for itself. But unless it does an absolutely stellar job presenting itself, I think it's going to get nailed. Strike zone seems to be an inch too high/low? So and so's batting stance isn't quite right (these are actors trying to mimic another person's movements, in most cases)? 2K8 missing a background building structure is enough to make someone purchase the other game? Again I can see where these issues collectively can make a person choose to purchase The Show - but is it really that perfect?
*I apologize to all for running at the mouth btw. I really shouldn't be making comments on something I know little about, but it's like everything being said is making the forum nearly unreadableHBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Re: No CitiField at Shea Stadium in MLB 2K8
Im a Mets fan, i wanted to see Citifield in the background...or at least not the trees that are not there in real life...and maybe the train in the background...the 7 train is right there. Either way they are going to have to get it right sooner or later...at the very least as long as they have the Lets Go Mets chant correct, i'll be okay. When you see it...you'll know what it is...Comment
