Basically, the game is not set up to stay in the same camera post-contact, so its not entirely straightforward to make it do that. Also, in The Show, it only stays in the same camera if you hit it up the middle. If you hit to right or left, it does cut to a different camera.

But, we did look into backing up time or stalling the AI at contact - but this was the best solution for this year. I have a feeling there are going to be very significant presentation changes for 2K9. Not basing that on any concrete knowledge, but knowing a few of the things I do, I think it's very likely.
Thanks for the answer its a shame that so much code would have to happen to redo it like 2k3 that game was such a landmark for baseball games for me. Yea that is what killed me in 2k was the frame rate drop if that wasnt a problem it would of flowed more effectively, hoping it was resloved for this year, and glad to hear you aknowledged a better way to read balls of bat i hope 2k9 polished it more.

So 2k can't fit everything on a DVD, but could on a Blu-Ray? No wonder HD-DVD is dead.

I've already heard roumers on a 360 game that needs 6 disks (can anyone remind me of the game?); downloadable content would be the only way to fit everything else i guess.

Multiple disks really killed the Playstation right? Those three disks for Final Fantasy VII were really pretty!

HD-DVD has nothing to do with any game on the 360.

But the point of this post is to say that it is so hard for me to imagine someone having trouble getting an internet connection, because for me, personally, the internet is like a 3rd leg or something. I can't walk without it, I can't live. When my internet goes down, I start getting the shakes. I'm already having issues because the DSL at my parents' house is extremely unreliable and slow.
KG, do you know if the team is going to start pushing the limits of the PS3 version, or will they make it hold back so that the 360 version doesn't become too inferior? I mean, you guys didn't seem to have a problem with that when concerning the Xbox and PS2 versions (Xbox version had Triple Pass Rendering, etc.).

HuH? xbox 360 games aren't on HD-DVD. Regular DVD's are used for games. Microsoft should have used an HD-DVD drive for their internal. The HD-DVD add-on peripheral is for movies only.
HD-DVD is dead because of movie studio support.

The PS3 is not actually more powerful than the 360. They have the same amount of RAM though its distributed differently and the PS3 devotes more of it to the operating system. So, at run-time you can actually have more data loaded into memory at any given moment on a 360 than you can on a PS3.

So Blu-ray holds more data on the disc, but the 360 can have more data loaded into memory at any given time.

And for those talking about media, the 360 uses Dual Layer DVDs - twice the size of a regular DVD.

                        That or go to Blu-Ray.
you can actually connect to xbox live with a dialup connection (i've done it) but kushgamer said the content would be around 100mb so that might take a while to d/l.

Dual-Layer DVD Holds 8.54gb, and a Single layer Blu-Ray Hold 25gb, thats still a huge gap no matter how you slice it, just saying.

You're getting too technical....u would have to use ur PC on a network on conjuction with ur dial up....and "trick" the 360 into thinking the pc is a broadband connection...

It will be some time before a game will actally use all of the space available on a BD-25. I will almost bet that no game on PS3 exceeds 10 GB as of right now. For movies the reason they went to BD-50 was because of all the sound format options taking up large amounts of space.
