Fatpitcher: Can you give a little more information on the GM mode, this is the one thing keeping me really interested. Also could you describe the trophy room and what exactly it holds.
Also nice to see the fictional players had cartoon faces in their profile, how would created players work in this reagrds, no pic like last year I assume or has the create a player been expanded.Comment

We don't have cartoon pics for fake players or created players. Where did you see that?
The trophy room holds various trophies that you can win either in single games or in franchise/GM/season. For single games, there are team and individual trophies for various statistical accomplishments (4 HRs for one person in a game, for instance). For Franchise/GM it's things like WS Trophy, Executive of the Year, Batting Title, MVP, etc.
GM Career is just you taking the role of GM and doing what the owner wants. It breaks up the monotony and lack of variety between seasons in franchise mode and makes you play a different way every year. You may have some tried-and-true method of getting the best players together for a playoff run, but your owner's not going to be happy with you if you don't meet the profit expectations he's laid out. Different owners value different things (wins, profit, certain kinds of players, etc.) and will assign you goals based on that as well as on the current situation of the team. For example, a Drayton McLane-type with a terrible team on his hands might primarily be interested in making money, but he'll give you goals to improve the team first, since he realizes you have to spend money to make money. Onc ethe team is "good enough" then he'll start wanting you to rake in the profits and get overpriced players off the team (unless they're loyal fan favorites like Craig Biggio, because they sell tickets and help the team's popularity even if they aren't that good on the field anymore). If you do well, you can get raises, the owner might relax his spending limit or put a little cash in the team's coffers, your reputation goes up, and your GM score goes up. If your GM score is high enough when you retire, you can be elected to the Hall of Fame--this is "winning" the game. If you do poorly, you can be fired, you can be assigned extra goals to make up for the ones you messed up on, the owner may decide he wants to spend less on the team, you reputation suffers, and your score may even go down if you really screw up. If you are fired or you quit your job, you may get offers from other teams...if so, you can continue the game with another team. If not, the game is over and you are forced to retire. I like this mode because it makes gameplay more involving than "stack your team with good players and sim the season", which gets tedious after a while. And while it's definitely an oversimplification of the role (no, you don't set the price of hot dogs), I think it makes you feel more involved and immersed. A lot of times the owner will drop by to give you an earful, or right before a series with a rival he might tell you how bad he wants to win and give you a minor reward if you do, etc.Comment

Re: Any questions?
Hey FP, hope to get this question answered. As it really is something I'm having trouble figuring out. Here goes, hope I can get what I'm trying to say across.
My question is regarding the new cursorless batting system. I've hated the cursor for awhile now, and last year MVP did hitting pretty well, and have improved upon in this year. You guys have countered with the 360 batting, which sounds promising. What I want to know is, do you find it easier to hit this way? And how is the HR ration using the cursorless batting? I'm still on the fence about this system..
I didn't really like the "Timed Hitting" you guys had last year. Even with the VERY FAST pitch speed, batting just wasn't much fun. Don't get me wrong, you guys win hands down at fielding, and behind the pitcher cam.Comment
