Hey FatPitcher, you said that the stadiums, in particular the outfield, are not bigger but the camera angle has changed a bit to make it appear bigger. One of the few problems I had with last year's game is the lack of ability to get a ball past the outfield. You could hit a would be gapper that should be a double, but the outfielder would just reach out and keep you at first. Or you could line on pretty much down the line but again the outfielder would most of the time get to it to stop the extra base hit.

Has this been changed at all? Can you get doubles easier this year?

    Thanks,

    John

We slowed down the outfielders a bit. There's a slider you can use to slow them down more (or speed them up) if you want.

            Another question for you FatPitcher:

Can you tell us what stadiums are in the game other than the 30 MLB ones? Basically I saw the vid at gamespot that said ESPN will have the Puerto Rico stadium. Will you have the Japan stadium as well and what classic stadiums?

            Thanks,

            John

--- Did I read you right before? Will we finally be able to change the stadiums in season or franchise mode??

--- This year when you edit players can you change skin color???

---Last year in my season I created alot of high rated legendary pitchers. Those as well as the great real pitchers in the game would always be easy to smoke when they were on the mound. This was especiall true with the slider at the infamous 100 abiility and throw strikes 1. It seemed like the worse the pitcher the wilder and harder it would be to hit. Where as great pitchers when they came over the plate would get hammered.

To combat this I actually moved the meter to 100 ability and between 90-100 throw strikes. This seemed to straighten things out a little. It worked. better pitchers threw better pitches and mediocre and bad ones were more wild but out of the zone.

                  a) how do you account for that.
                  b) besides the new ahead, behind slider what else has been done to alleviate what was at best a sticky part of the game.

--------Are there more wild pitches from the cpu pitchers? More passed balls?

-------Is the fielder positioning changed at all on defense? How about facing the cpu. Does it track players real life tendancies or tendancies from the game?

                  THANKS!!!!

Yes, you can change the stadiums in season in franchise games.

You can't change skin color when editing, only creating.

There's also a pitch variability slider (instead of just 3 settings), the throw strikes slider is more sensitive, hitting corners is easier for good pitchers, and pitchers rarely throw fat pitches when the pitching ability slider is turned up.

Yes, and there's a slider for "catcher errors" that will affect the frequency.

Fielder positioning is changed in that players who are holding on a runner will hop back closer to their normal position when the pitcher starts his motion. Also, the 2B/SS hold and cover for steals based on the batter's handedness. The CPU doesn't account for pull hitting, etc. in its positioning, as whether you pull the ball completely depends on when you push the swing button, not the batter's attributes.

The only 3 we added this year were Hiram Bithorn, Petco, and Citizens Bank. Our stadium artists spent the large majority of their time redoing the other MLB stadiums, and I think they're a huge improvement over last year.

Hey FatPitcher, are you able to take a practice swing (can't remember if you could in last year's game), or does it make you take a full cut when you hit the swing button in the batter's box. Thanks.
