1. is timed hitting still in the game?
2. is there still a pitch preview?
3. is there still a pitch locator when pitching to tell where your going to throw it?

All that stuff is in the Official Xbox Magazine's March2003 issue Demo Disc Demo (October 2003 prerelease version) so i'm sure it'll be in release version.]Comment

Any idea when you might be able to comment on these features that haven't been announced yet? Would really like to hear some cool "new" things about ESPN. All the upgrades and changes listed so far sound great and since I played WSB 2k3 exclusively last year, I am really looking forward to this year's game.
Thanks for answering questions!

FatPitcher first of all I think this game is giong to surprise a lot of people and be better than they are expecting. My question is about the speedburst. Do you like having it in the game or do you turn it off because it cuts off a lot of extra base hits? Which way do you think is more realistic?
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
I like it because it gives you more choices. By the way, it also speeds up animations when you are using it. So if you dive for the ball, then hold the speed boost button, you'll get up off the ground faster than normal.
I don't think the speed boost makes the game unrealistic. We don't want to add anything that takes away from the simulation aspect of the game. We've added some things that will increase the strategy and arcade appeal (speed boost, confidence, effort meter mound visits, various control features and options, new situational animations, etc.), but we've been careful to make sure that realism doesn't suffer. If we're just putting in features that don't enhance the game as a whole, then they're just gimmicks.Comment

You know what it is? For me its a control thing, I like to know exactly where the bat is when it crosses the plate, as opposed to with zone hitting you press up but really have no idea how high you swung the bat. So maybe its a just preception thing but at the point of contact I can tell by seeing the cursor whether I topped a ball or got just under and can make the adjustments the next time. With zone hitting the cpu determines all that and I have no idea why if I press up on a high pitch I pop it up. Unfortunately though more and more people like the zone hitting style so cursors are fading out, WSB is the only one I think that has it now, so I guess at some point I'll have to suck it up and use zone eventually.

We plan on keeping cursor as an option in future versions.Comment
