Will we be receiving any media from you guys on this game?

Is the collision detection any good?

Have replays been fixed, or rather adjusted?

    1. We're working on it.

    2. Well... it doesn't seem any different than last year's - did you like it then?

    3. Replays are a bit wacky. In general, they look nice, but sometimes, weird things happen. On double play turns, for example, they'll show the play, and then go to a cut-scene. If only one of the two runners was thrown out, they'll show the wrong man walking back to the dugout - the one that was safe. Odd...

OK - that'll be it for tonight. I'll unlock it tomorrow and we can get some more questions in!

            Re: Beta Impressions Thread

Shawn, I just want to thank you for what you do. I am so tired of reading "impressions" that are neutral ("This game is not better or worse than ______, it's just DIFFERENT.") We know that. It's not the same game. That's not why I read an impression. When I read an impression, I know the writer has an opinion and I'd like him to share it. I'm sure others feel the same way. You do that. You tell it like it is. You've done nothing wrong. I've seen no bashing of the game. I only read your IMPRESSIONS, and they are honest. That's what this thread is for. If it were merely to point ont a game's features, changes, etc., then it's not an impression, its a PREVIEW. I commend you for telling us what you really think, which is a good thing. Game developers should take the comments as positive feedback. There is no need to get defensive. If I were putting out a product on a market, I'd want to know how a targeted group of people which is my target market would perceive the product and I'd be especially interested in knowing what they don't like about it. It does no good to just write glowing things since I'd never be able to improve my product. Kudos to you, Shawn.

And to the game develpers who participate on this site, thanks for all that you do. You help calm our anticipation each spring and provide valuable insight into what's new. And we know you don't get paid to do that. Thanks for your time.

OS is a wonderful bridge between developers and the public, to know what consumers want and what game makers plan to deliver. I believe sports gaming has improved directly as a result of the comments and suggestions of the posters on this site. Keep it coming.

                  Shawn,

In last year's version, hits to the outfield were rarely hit over the outfielder's head. Instead gap hits usually was the way to get doubles/triples and the ball would bounce around the field like a pinball. Any differences this year? How is the ball physics?

                        Shawn,

So you're saying the "True Aim" batting feels more like timing hitting?

If that's the case, that kind of sucks.

shawn, do the infielder still make the shallow outfield catches with their heads wagging?

as far as hitting, it was described as being a 3D type zone hitting, have you seen that?
is it default? or do you have to choose it?

do the pitchers tire reasonably? do the CPU pitchers provide a good challenge?

you say everything looks and feels the same. since this game didn't need huge overhauls, is it a game that will show the improvement the more you play it? for axample, will the changes be nuances in CPU management and AI regarding stealing, pitching out and defensive adjustments?

i am looking for a game that makes you manage and think.
