As long as MLB by 989 keeps coming out, I don't care what Take Two does with the MLB license.

Re: VC close on a deal
I applaud this move by Take2/VC!!!! They have been under attack from EA and their ONLY recourse is to play this game by the dirty rules they have before them. I got a good laugh along with an "ATTA BOY" when I read that they would try to lock out EA! To me they are saying that they are not against competition, but against monopolies of licenses. I do hope that Microsoft gets involved and throws their money around. I hope that things become such a mess that those that have power over the industry will have to step in and right the ship.
I am not against exclusive rights in gaming. I've dealt with this problem for many years. I'd love for PD to bring the GranTurismo series to the Xbox, but licensing prohibits it. But now this licensing tactic is being used as a way to stifle competition. This will surely hurt the industry!! And this is why I love what VC is trying to do. Fight BACK!!! Play dirty! Then maybe... when all involved can see what a slippery slope this is, maybe.... changes can be made.
I will always believe that having a choice of where to put my dollar benefits us all. In gaming, it seems that choice is dwindling. So it seemed that we would be faced with a prospect of one company delivering ALL of our major sports games. But now it looks like different companies will will divide the sports pie.
It doesn't look good.
But I sure am happy that someone is standing up to the "Evil Empire", fighting them at their own game. To Take Two and VC..... ATTABOY!!!!

Re: VC close on a deal
I think it's a good thing VC is doing this actually..
THey had to do something to counter the ESPN and NFL License being taken from them.
ALso, I think it's good that EA gets a taste of their own medicine and realizes what they started.
I'm happy 989 can still make MLB games though.. I also am hoping this could mean a new developer for Sega's MLB game next year... please VC do it yourselves or bring back WOW.
I'm not really crying over this news in regards to MVP.. MPV is probably going to get it's *** handed it to it this year by MLB any ways.Last edited by steveeee; 01-19-2005, 01:33 PM.Comment
