Re: VC close on a deal
Anyone that thinks this is a good idea is fooling themselves. You have to know that this is bad for all gamers. I completely agree that it sucks for fans of ESPN NFL that Madden has exclusive rights. But it also sucks for fans of Madden, that Madden has exclusive rights. Its not good, in any way, shape or form. Now the same thing is happening in baseball, it sucks for those who love MVP (like me) and for those who love ESPN Baseball. Its not a good situation and it seems its only getting worse.Comment

It seems like each company is so intent on screwing each other that they dont realize they are screwing the consumers. Thankfully, I am sure this is the first and only time that money will get in the way of doing what is best for others.Comment

Re: VC close on a deal
From a business perspective, TakeTwo's move is WORSE than EA's.
I'm an ESPN Football guy, but EA eliminated the number two game in the market. There are more Madden fans than ESPN -- less people are effected.
But a 3rd Party MLB exclusive to TakeTwo eliminates the number 1 baseball game in the marketplace.
TakeTwo's move takes from the majority, so I think it's pretty bad.
The bottom line, EA started a war with licensing, TakeTwo is responding, and gamers lose in BOTH cases.Comment

Secondly, your argument makes no sense because those that used to buy MVP will buy Sega's and 989's game just as those who bought ESPN 2k5 will buy Madden next year whether they say they will or not. Are you telling me that less people will buy baseball games because EA no longer makes them? Highly unlikely - there will still be at least two quality titles available.Comment
