After viewing the videos, I cancelled my order with EB. I HAD both MVP and MLB 2k5 ordered. I enjoy playing baseball and baseball games, but the MLB 2k5 had way too many flaws for me. Last year I made the mistake of buying both games and I took ESPN back the next day because of the crappy graphics and choppy gameplay. Sure, Skybox was cool. But you can't spend the whole game playing air hockey and making a scrapbook of your fave plays.

I know that this is a MLB 2k5 board, but MVP has massive replay value for me. I played it from the time it came out until Halo 2 came out in Nov. My real struggle will be when I could play MVP over Halo 2.

My two cents is in. I hope you guys find some enjoyment in bad fielding animations and pasty looking faces (and players running straight through them).

You could have left the last part of trolling out of your post. I'm many people could attack MVP too, even this years version. I won't stoop to that level, anyway I don't know how people can say the faces don't look good, cause they look pretty good to me, and how can you judge from a video on your PC, you can't. You guys should wait until you rent or just play it for that matter. Yes the animations could use some work and that goes for MVP too, cause I feel that MVP will be a great game but it also hase it's flaws. It's just I really don't see a lot of the issues that you guess are dwelling on. There not game Killers by any means.

If we can't judge the an unreleased game by videos (which are put there for us to judge whether or not we will buy the game), then what purpose do the videos serve?

I know I am bias because I have weeks of experience with MVP 04, but I have to go with the animation failures on MLB 2k5 as being the reason why I don't buy this game. For some, it is not an issue. I understand and will respect that.

The PC version, easily. There is much more support for the PC version in terms of patches and roster updates.

It's just not as fun not being able to update as much on the XBox version....

Very very good post. It's this same reason that many people choose ESPN over Madden, b/c there are just many more animations in ESPN (football).

what did concern me about those two videos was the flash on the screen that showed pitch count. At one point i believe it flashed up somewhere saying 38 pitches, 37 strikes, 1 ball. That's very concerning. Yes, it's a HUM controlled player, but seemed to be way too easy to hit the strike zone. That itself is not promising. I don't plan on using either the visible strike zone or the K zone/cursor aiming anyway but it still concerns me a bit.

Actually that pitch count was Randy Johnson's so it wasn't HUM controlled it was the CPU. IIRC the human player had 10 balls.

WOW I didn't have any problems with the faces I thought they looked pretty good, Piazza face look pretty damn good.

My order
1-MLB 2006
2-MLB 2K5 a real close second now
3- NO MVP for me, just hasn't impressed me at all this year. Owner just doesn't cut it for me, just like it didn't in Madden. Plus I relly don't know how some people really like the player models in MVP or there faces, There's just somthing about them I just don't like.

you are dillusional, although you got the MLB 2006 right, that game will be exactly the same as mvp with slightly more refined gameplay and a little more realistic franchise.
