I hope that MLB 2K5 can match the great game play of ESPN MLB 2K4 and if it does it could be the second best sports game of the year now that the presentation is much improved. I am not impressed at all with MVP baseball so MLB 2K5 should easily be the best baseball game this year which is likely to be a very poor year for video baseball games. MLB 2K5 is our only hope!

I agree with Peter OS about the floaty look...I think its because the camera is moving while the ball is flying out into the field. It looks weird. I prefer the camera stay static in one place.

That being said, I dig the moving shadows. Its about time a developer put this in. Its a small detail, but nice. Liked the spin on balls hit down the line. Lots of curve going on, makes for dramatic down the line hits/fouls.

Great commentary. Sounds like a real game. Nice continuous chatter and organ too.

The POTD hasnt changed my mind. This game just isnt my preference on many levels. Im sticking with 989 and MVP for PC.

Come on, you're just reaching. Tons of games promise a "whole new game" every year and in those games there are almost always animations held over from last year.

Excellent Point. I find it funny that the "whole new game" thing gets brought up. This is a re-work, not a re-write. Kush had to take the game that Blue Shift had made and tweak it. The new code that is being written is for next-gen systems. Madden, NBA Live, MLB 2k, MLB 200.. are all going to be the same code for next years games. (current platforms) There will be feature addons but no new game engines. It costs a lot of money to develop entire gameplay/graphical/physics engines. I wouldn't invest the money.

This game is a "brand new" game in that fundimental gameplay and presentation elements have been changed. Better ESPN integration, new announcer, new swing animations, K-zone pitching, baseburner mode, etc... Now, what people feel about those new elements may vary; it is a new game experience, though. I'm looking forward to this game; even with the flaws that I've seen and am expecting. Can't wait for March 1st....
              Note to Tiburon Marketing:

A great product sells itself, no "back of the box" features required! (See Fifa...)

Watched one video and looks solid, overall. It has it's issues, but I didn't see anything that would be a game-killer for me. It looks like fun and with all of the sliders available, we'll be able to fine-tune this game, nicely.

I dunno guys. Your "expertise" seems alot more astute than mine. I get more excited with evry video I see. I played a TON of MVP last year and thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. This game has made me do a complete 360 and I am excited.

Shea Stadium looks great, the announcing is great, and the amount of sliders and the customization available is a little staggering. The faces do look blah - they need to work on that and the animations...they just need more. That being said - I do't see it to the point where it's game killer. I dunno guys - I can't wait.
