To be honest, all they did was take what was there and build on it. They didn't completely rewrite all the code.

It's all a marketing ploy, one that is obviously working well.

Don't take the comment to mean the game looks bad or anything... then you're reading into it too much.

When they say "It's a whole new game," I don't think they necessarily meant it was built from the ground up.

I have a feeling it will be like last years game...........very boring to play, looks great when everything is not moving. And why do we have to hire fake coaches?? I hate that.

This is a really different game, just because they kept some animations from past games dosen't mean a thing, or it doesn't mean those animations are bad. I think the game looks really good this year and I see a lot of different things in this years game well.

What about MVP'c owner mode, don't you think that a marketing ploy as well. I really don't see much of a difference from this years game compared to last years game, do you?

Well, when you have that same animation occur maybe 5 or 6 times in the span of an inning, it becomes VERY noticeable.

Too many negatives for me to focus on.... but just as many positives. I'd rather have a game that the positives outweigh the negatives.

I still think this game has a ton of potential... the crowd and atmosphere are great! A BIG step up on other 2k sports games! But the stiff player animations detract from the overall experience. (Player tags, poor transitions, etc.)

Anyway, I don't know why you'd bring up a franchise aspect of MVP and try to compare it to something on the field in MLB 2k5, FF. If you're that interested, if EA said it was a "revolutionary" mode, I'd agree with you, esp. with MLB 2006's great owner mode. But again, what that has to do with the gameplay videos, ya got me there.

Yeah, the umpire sounds pretty bad. I'm probably turning it off, or on one click. You can't ever really hear them when watching a game on TV, only the home plate umpire if he's loud.

Yes some things look bad such as the fielding transistions but there's a lot of positives too. I think this is going to be a transitional year for the series but I don't mind that as long as I enjoy the game.

One neat thing is the shadows moving during the game and the commentary. The commentary is probably one of, if not the best baseball commentary i've ever heard! It was almost like watching Sunday Night Baseball.

One thing i'll get sick of tho is that crazy foul ball animation.

Overall I think i'll like this game and if it gets repitious or not fun to play then I at least have MLB to lean back on.

Exactly! With that said, I just wish some people would stop posting as if this is going to be THE baseball game to get this year... Too many minor issues that hamper the overall experience. Doesn't make it a bad game, but hey...

Yeah muff, the umpire is going OFF.... or at least I'm lowering the volume of sound effects WAAAY down.... almost off...

Oh, I absolutely LOVE when a player beats out a play at first... they have the "stretch" step down PAT!

But I hate that damn DP animation... does every 2nd baseman leap 3 ft in the air when making a turn?

Oh, and the pulsing, "pressure" icon was right on the money! 1st and 3rd, 1-0 ball game, and Pedro has to pitch to PAyRod.... nice job, TT!
