Anybody fixed the fact that the game randomly picks players from your organization and assigns them pitching stats?I creating Ryan Langarhans and put him in the braves roster, but not only my entire braves roster changed but other teams roster changed too. Why is that. Now if the braves or other teams trade or sign players, there will be no point for chsnging it. If u don't have online like me, u be sad too. -

Re: Are you guys still enjoying this game even with its warts?
MLB 2K4 is still the best baseball game since High Heat 2004 IMHO at least on the XBOX IMHO. It just feels more like baseball with awesome scoring variety, some games are low scoring some are high scoring and the ratings matter more in MLB 2K4 then MVP 2005 or MLB 2K5. When I play MVP 2005 I feel like I am playing against the same team with different uniforms each game. The animations are great in MVP 2005 but it has an arcade feel to it and the CPU cannot seem to drive in many runs despite getting as many as 15 hits some games. MVP 2005 is not a bad game but I have other options I like better.
MLB 2K5 is a game with lots of potential but is plagued with too many problems from the true aim batting to fielding to franchise problems. It just seems like an incomplete game with lots of potential. I really like the option to take control of base runners and the game pace is right on. Overall though it seems like an unfinished game.
It looks like either High Heat 2004 or MLB 2K4 will be my baseball game of choice this year. Hopefully next year Take Two can really surprise us with a great baseball game.Comment

Re: Are you guys still enjoying this game even with its warts?
I got this back out again last night after getting the latest rosters with fix for pitchers/third base attributes, as well as Big FnJoes realism sliders. And while the game had a good score 2-1 8 hits for me 6 for cpu, it just doesn't feel right. I feel so disconnected from the baserunning and fielding. I have been playing more mlb2006, but just felt like giving 2k5 another shot, and I will give it a few more, but it just doesn't have the "feel" for me. Plus I get so upset over the fly ball down the line camera (in fact, my one run was a home run that I did not even get to see as it was right down the line) and the fact that EVERY TEAM leaves the field towards the first base dugout, no matter where you play. That bugs me so much.
But I will try some more, as I am mad at 989 for ruining the eye toy interface in career mode which is what drew me into it in the first place, although it does play pretty well.Comment

Re: Are you guys still enjoying this game even with its warts?
I gotta say that just in the past week or so did I finally start enjoying this game. First of all, I've always been a huge fan of the cursor hitting, and this year it's simply unusable in this game. I find the aim hitting in this game as well as MVP entirely too easy. If you're just patient you'll get a good pitch to hit every at bat. The only time I really suck at the plate is when I get impatient. So it took me quite a while to get used to the new hitting style.
The glitches are finally starting to be seen less and less, the pass ball glitch is non-existant anymore and for the most part the slow-roller to 3rd is gone as well. The only real problem I have is the Right Fielder glitch when he completely misses the ball on that one catching animation when he just gets to the ball in time. Very frustrating, esp since it isn't counted as an error and usually ends up being at least a double for the batter. Besides that, the only thing I really hate is that you can't play season/franchise/GM games at any stadium you want anymore like you could the last few years. I used the Mets and play all the home games at an old stadium (this year it woulda been Ebbitts Field!), or the D-Rays and play at the old DC stadium but that can't happen unfortunately this year. I have no clue why they'd take this feature out. So I'm pretty much stuck with using the Yanks and it's still a little too easy, but I may just start a Mets dynasty anyway and deal w. ugly Shea.
Once everything got straighted out and good sliders emerged (I use Bigf'njoe's) I have finally started to enjoy this game. Also, I'm a huge college basketball fan so I'm still playing College Hoops mostly and won't get into baseball til the season is underway.
But at least this game didn't turn out to be a total loss like I thought it was when I first got it."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
