what do you mean by "living roster" inside quotation marks?

Is this a roster for only using with MLB Today? I thought that doesn't work with 2k12 anymore.

Or do you mean it's just a roster that, due to your constant changes, is "alive" with action?

And, pardon my ignorance here, if you use your "living rosters" you have to start a franchise over each time you download it and use it in the game, correct? Or can you overwrite your roster with your updated roster each time and keep going in your franchise? I was under the impression that you can't do that and your franchise file will become corrupt.

Or do you mean your "living roster" is for use in only "play now" games?

Not to be a pain as I know I've asked this before...But is anyone willing to port the 2k12 MK roster to 2k13? This was done with an earlier version but so many changes have taken place.

If anyone could please do this it would be appreciated.

Just wanted to say thanks MK been using your rosters-sliders combo for about a month now and Im getting great games.

If only i could update the roster in the middle of my franchise instead of restarting every time a new roster drops

April 10 - Living Roster

(I will post an offline file later today if I have time).

This file was the most extensive editing I've done thus far. I've given guys with a track record in the past the benefit of the doubt, but I've also noted some hot starts that have taken place as well. I don't like to go too drastic this quickly, but sometimes the light finally kicks on for a guy, and sometimes a guys starts to see the end... I'll be wise & fair about those edits. I know I can't please everyone... Also, the "overall" number doesn't rally do things justice - some guys are strong or weak in areas that the overall doesn't really calculate.

To our friend above (pitchleague): the idea of a "Living Roster" is simply what it means.... I provide this for guys to play with in play now games (as I greatly enjoy them). And yes, you would have to start over a franchise because you can't override a previous one. But I would strongly suggest starting with THIS file as it's probably my best work to date. If that is something you don't understand (and I couldn't tell by the tone of your post what you were driving at) you don't have to keep downloading them. But EVERY game here has people editing on a daily basis. When will the last file come? Who knows... But just grab one and play.

We did this with NHL 2k10 a while back as we did updated rosters. Did a quasi NHL Today (MLB Today here of course) and listed the games for the day.

Users would claim the game of their liking. Play it and post the results. We'd see how close we were to daily and we'd use the daily lineups. Was a lot of fun! Also a great way to play with teams you don't normally play with.

heh, mkharsh, no worries. I was just asking genuine innocent questions--no malicious thought was intended in my post.

I appreciate the answer. I now understand the purpose behind your putting living roster in quotation marks and, thus, the purpose of the roster.

I did grab your opening day roster (march 31) that was ported over to a PC roster and have been using it and updating it daily, as well. Thanks again for the reply.

That's a really cool idea. Unfortunately my schedule is all over the place so I couldn't commit to anything like this, but I'd be interesting in seeing the results.

I coach high school baseball. I have no time. But i'll try to squeeze in a game here and there. First come first serve. I'll put that at on the Superheated Thread.

I would strongly suggest taking one of the last 2 files, or our opening day file.
Alot of the minor league prospects are in the last few, as well as them basically being opening day quality.

The roster Mike updates every couple of days is based of real events. He is a guy who plays MLB Today, not a franchise guy like us. To get your results on what could happen, take the opening day file and work from there. Ive had my franchise going since before that. No need to stress.

In an unrelated note, i'll stick the offline file here in a few minutes for everyone.

I played today's Baltimore (cpu) at Boston (me) game. Lineups were 100% accurate to tonight's game. Aceves ran out of gas and didn't make it out of the 5th (4 2/3). I lost 9-4 using my slider set. Adam Jones & Matt Weiters killed me. I had a HUGE error that cost me a few runs. Napoli went 3-4 for me, and I brought in Gomes as a pinch-hitter in the 9th (hitting for Drew) and he hit a 2 run HR. I should have pitched outside a bit more but got greedy. And I paid for it.

My UMass Lowell hockey team just lost in OT to Yale. Gonna finish my beer and fire up the game I picked.

MK has the first official score reported for the community MLB 2k12 mode.
