Walks have always been a problem, especially Human Controlled Pitching. Editing ratings around control, doesn't seem like a fix. Remove the Strike Zone & raise all AI Take Ball Sliders as you see fit & see if this helps.. but like many have stated this has always been a problem

Welcome back Joe!!! I must say that you are the man!!!!! You should consider working for 2ksports to make a game that plays a real sim game out the box...Your sliders rock. 2k should atleast pay you for your time and effort Anyway, Im using the pro-realism sliders and i upped cpu skill to 75 contact to 53 and Power to 48. I also turned off strike zone and must say i just had a great game against the Jays.

With these adjustments i just had a great game against the Jays.I was up 5-0 in the 9th. Jays come up to bat for their last licks. Chacon had pitched a gem up until the 7th where he got himself into a bases loaded jam. Brought in Villone and got Hinske to ground out into a double play. Fast foward to the bottom of the ninth, Dotel in for Villone and he allows a single then walks the next 2 batters. Then after 3 straight sinlges settles down and gets out of the jam with another timely double play.

      Box Score:

      R/H/E
      Yanks (Me) 5/11/1
      Jays 3/8/0

      Yanks Record: 10-3

i turned the baserunner speed up a bit (human) and turned the felding aggression (cpu) down a bit. not reallly knocking triples, but im able to stretch more doubles. i have 1 triple, and its with damon. so i guess thats pretty realistic. i still dont challenge too many arms on a 3rd to home sac fly unless its super deep. i wish i was able to edit the players for any team in the franchise, because only those with the cannons would keep the cannons.

Joe (or anyone who can answer),

This might be a dumb question but is legend supposed to be hardeer than pro realism? I askj because the hitting for pro realism )18 and 20 something if i remmeber) is much lower than your legend settings (contact and power in the 40s), however Legend would imply that they are harder.

I ask because i just finished a game with your pro realsm sliders and had 30 hits and scored like 15 runs or something. COuld be an anamoly, but i just feel like o is too easy. ANy suggestions???

Legend is harder, hence why the the hitting sliders are higher than the Pro Realism. If you feel the hitting is 2 easy, drop your contact slider 5 clicks & see what happens

              Joe,

But once u change any setting from legend or rookie or whtever, it goes to custom. Therefore, wouldn't an 18 contact be harder to hit with than a 40 something?

Why does it matter what set you initially srtart with (legend or otherwise) when once u alter them it goes to custom?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but im new to 2k baseball.

Yeah it is confusing but each difficulty setting has "intangibles" such as AI throwing speed which we arent able to adjust that changes with each difficulty setting...When we adust other sliders, those intagibles that are programmed into the game remains the same depending on which difficulty you start out with..Confusing i know but it does make a difference to the way the game plays depending on what setting you start at. Hope this clears it up somewhat.

I couldn't of said any better. The setting never changes, even though once you change a slider it says "CUSTOM" everytime. ROOKIE being the easiest(HUMAN/CPU) LEGEND the hardest.(CPU/HUMAN)

hey joe, 2 quick questions......been using your sliders for years now so i beleive we both proably play the same way on this game..........why is your feilder speed at 27 for human.....i have mine at 100 and they still seem slow as molasis especially when they try to react very fast to a hard hit ball........just wondering why yours is so low when at 100 for me it seems like i should have the slider set at 150 lol..........and another question with swing stick setting of contact=18 and power=27.......i still use the true aim like last years 2k5 version.....what would u consider for that......last year i used your setting which i beleive we both had contact=30 power=40 for the pure realsim 2k5

The fielders seem to move more realistic @ 27. As for your other question. I would leave Contact @ 18 & raise Power to 43 & see how it goes.

bigjoe, thanks for your sliders and the time you spend on this board. I am an old dude that still prefers the classic batting. Having said that, do you have a specific set of sliders for that, or which MAIN slide would you correct?

                            Keep the good work!

Since Pro is the default setting(50)I left the Change Speed Slider@50 because now the change speed is more based on a player rating than the slider it's self.

For 1 button hitting Heelfan has a set of sliders for 1 button hitting. If you want to conti nue using my sliders, I wouls use the Pro Realism sliders & change the Human Power Slider to about 43 & see what happens.

                                Hey Joe,

Using your realism sliders and enjoying them alot. My question is do you score any other way than HR's? I would say 85-90% of my runs are the result of the long ball, and if it's not the long ball it's having to string together like 4-5 singles.

                                Thanks pal
