Im now settled on these until 2K8, at last, after months of trying, ive found what i consider to be as close to perfection/sim baseball as possible with this game.

Give these a whirl and report back.

p.s. i use payoff pitching and classic hitting, results may vary if you use any other settings!

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**

Edited: Fatigue back to 35...the extra hits the CPU gets on 60 (meaning more pitches have to be thrown) power means 35 is now fine again.

Alright fellas, ive made 3 little tweaks. Power up from 50 to 55, simply because home runs are almost still non existant on 50 (since the patch killed the power right down), yet on 55 the numbers are far more realistic. To compensate for this, CPU power has gone up from 55 to 60 for the same reason, but be careful here, poor pitching REALLY gets punished. Another reason for this is my ERA through 20 games is 3.14, over.50 points better than anyone else, too low really, anything around or over 3.50 would be better so i think CPU power 60 will achieve that fine.

So, in summary, 2 changes. Let me know how these affect you, but i will repeat this warning.....CPU power on 60 is VERY challenging, so concentrate hard when pitching.

              Enjoy folks

Great sliders, played 3 games with them yesterday.. quick comment though. I play with the Braves, got a single with Willy Harris, then tried to bunt him over to 2nd with Chuck James and they got a double play out of it. tried it the next game after Kelly Johnson reached, tried to bunt him over with Renteria, same result.. I lowered the fielder speed for both the CPU and USER to 15 and seems to work better.. thoughts?

Ive never had that happen....what i would suggest you do is put it back to 20 for both, but make sure to get a 2 or 3 step lead off, even when bunting, and they tend to make it quite comfortably, in fact i often have had the CPU go for the lead runner at 2nd, be too late and then you get the man on 1st with the bunt. The lead off is as much key to bunting as it is with stealing. Let me know how it goes, and dont forget to try these other tweaks too

Sweet. I've been looking for some good sliders, as mine are way too pitching heavy. One question...does it matter what difficulty you start these from? I notice people always mention they started with pro and went from there, or started with AS and went from there, etc. I don't see how that matters, but if so can you let me know? Thanks.

Doesnt matter Mikey, just go straight to custom then start tweaking mate.

These are working like a dream for me now, i doubt ill need to do any more tweaking, im getting blowouts, pitchers duels, tight games, correct homer and strikeout numbers, loving it.

Sweet sliders....do you use swing stick....and do you press up on it? I was going yard w/ Poppy and Manny everytime pressing up...so now I have contact at 20 and power at 0 and have not hit 1 homerun in 12 games....does not really bother me because I have had a bunch of amazing pitching...which is actually more fun than a slugfest. But after seeing your latest sliders...going to move power up to 55 and move the CPU power up to 60....Hoping it is not a slugfest...will let you know. Between the patch and these sliders....this game is amazing. Have actually resisted the urge to pick up NCAA 08

p.s. can you change the color from yellow to something a little darker....look like an 80 year old man squinting at the screen

Here are my game stats from the game I just played with these sliders. Maybe it was just this game, but there were a lot of Home Runs (hopefully with more testing, these go away) and not enough singles.

                              Kansas City (Me) 7 @ Pittsburgh 9

                              Hits: 8 - 9

                              Walks: 3 - 6
                              Strikeouts: 10 - 6
                              Errors: 0 - 1
                              Pitches: 153 - 119

But after seeing your latest sliders...going to move power up to 55 and move the CPU power up to 60....Hoping it is not a slugfest...will let you know. Between the patch and these sliders....this game is amazing. Have actually resisted the urge to pick up NCAA 08

p.s. can you change the color from yellow to something a little darker....look like an 80 year old man squinting at the screen
Classic....and i never push up, too many easy homers.

Wes you cant judge any slider set over 1 game, you need at least 9 or 10 to start to see the variation it provides.

Like you my last game but one, score was 10-8 and the ball was going everywhere, my last game before writing this? 1-0 pitchers duel, 6 hits to me 7 to them, the variation really is excellent given time.

It also depends how you play...if you work the count properly when batting, pitch well and patiently, and dont hold up, you will get the superbly realistic numbers i am.
