    NYM 6 11 0
    ATL 1 6 0

    Thought/opinions appreciated.

That is just about a carbon copy of my first few games. I am using Heelfan's though and have actually lost 2 games out of 9, but I seem to follow those loses with a shutout. If I could get the CPU offensive numbers up a bit more, I will be happy with the game.

I do like what I am seeing as far as homers go, as I am averaging a homer every 11 AB and that is the highest I have got it so far. It is still way high, but that is just the game. If I could get it up to say 20 AB, that would be perfect.

For those using Heels sliders with low CPU offense, try this:

      Raise pitch speed to 75
      AI skill to 30-35

I have used this for a few games and the cpu is scoring pretty well and has beat me 2 straight. The higher pitch speed and lowering my contact to 20 has also cut down on my offense as well. I think DD and hot/cold teams on is the way to go, as I am getting really close now.

          Re: Dynamic Difficulty Experiment

Guys this is not working for me.

          Latest game against the Braves.

          Code:
          NYM 3 10 0
          ATL 0 6 0
Thats now 6 games 6 wins, 6 easy wins, ERA below 1! CPU offense is totally dead, swinging at anything whatsoever.

I think im going to have go back to the just the "perfect" sliders without Dyn Diff/Hot Cold on.

Its weird as before, with these same sliders, my ERA was 4.30 and i was having great games, its as if the Dyn Diff/Hot Cold has totally stunted the CPU and not me

            Re: Dynamic Difficulty Experiment

I actually just tried this last night just for poops and giggles and enjoyed the two games I played with DD and Hot/Cold on ... then I come on here today and notice that a lot of you have done the same thing and it seems to be working out well.

One thing I haven't seen anybody mention however, with the exception of one person is ... <is anyone playing with Default sliders, preferably All Star?

I started playing DD/HC with my own tweaked sliders and it seems to be ok but I feel my sliders are still a little too easy for me to pour on offense if I want to. I like to change the least amount of things the game was intended to play as possible. So if anybody has tried keeping Dynamic Difficulty on with the factory default AllStar sliders I'm really curious to know how it worked out.

I turned DD on for the playoffs. Playing some great games. I swept the Brewers in the NLDS. In the NLCS I am facing the Braves. The Braves won the first two games of the series. Pretty close games. Low scoring, pitcher duels. Team that won was the team that made the least pitching mistakes. Third game, another duel that was one by me. In the fourth game, my offense woke up and I pounded the Braves 11-3. Series is now tied at 2.

Played one game with it. Won 3-1, I hit 3 HR's to the CPU's 1.

The only thing I don't like is how the pitch speed changes during the game.

I am going to try this tomorrow when I go back to my franchise. I was going to start the franchise with in on but was worried it adjusts sliders and saves them. Good thing these are "invisible" adjustments.

I am not having luck with these. Don't get me wrong, I very much like the idea of focing the computer to play you a tougher game. However.........

I pulled up a team full of 19-21 year olds from the minors (rated 46-66 OVR) and was able to hang with any team....(I was actually 10-1). The games were very fun as thy always came down to the last couple innings.

But...........they shouldn't have. This "dynamic" setting seems to work in a bad way when you are the lesser team, it makes them play to (down) the level of the crappy guys on my overmatched team. That I do not like.

11 games with this 'on' and my guy with OVR 46 rating (c & c+ hitting) is batting in the .440's and leading the MLB in doubles.

my own set, posted a while ago......I even dropped my hitting to have contact @ zero, power @ zero, pitcher difficulty @90 -

cpu hitting skill @ 95, contact @ 75, power @ 40, pitcher difficulty ended up going all the way down to zero.....This is after manually adjusting all my players down 50% in the power and home run category as well as knocking down the arms of the outfielders by half in the strenght and accuaracy category.

Nothing against your idea, I thought it would work but ended up making my games less fun, and I never lost (once), where before I was playing barely .500 ball.

That should stop after three or four games. Keep in mind, the whole idea is to play with the feature on indefinitely so that it can tailor the sliders to your play style and ability. If you just play a game or two, the only effect you're gonna see is that the sliders are in flux. I'd recommend at least ten games to allow DD to do its thing.
