    Game Results (Dynasty)

    CUB-7-11-2
    PITT-2-4-1

HR-Soriano, Lee (2 run HR), Bay 2...one went off of Pie's glove and over the fence. That's two of those in the last 4 games. The OF Error at 100 may need to be brought back to reality.

2B- Ward (Score was 1-1 in the 7th with 2 outs and he doubled in Pie), Murton (RBI Double in the 8th)

3B-Fontenot (in for the tired Theriot, tripled in 2 runs after the Ward double in the same inning)

    Pitches:

    Cub-124 (66% strikes)
    PITT-114 (69% strikes)

The second Bay homer was on a slider low and away off the plate. He reached out and golfed it over the RF wall. Ridiculous.

Rich Hill was on as he struck out 10 in 6 innings. I brought Weurtz on for the final 3 and only struck out 1. Pretty realistic to me.

I think 95 or 90 is prolly a better setting. Of course it only hurts when it's your guy committing the error

I'm talking on the human sliders. I'm making way too much contact on with my controlled players. I had the human contact at what trinity suggested and pretty much am putting everything in play. I continue to lower contact and skill, though I'm afraid if I do, the hit variety may suffer. Or should I adjust the step influence up? I'm trying to get more realistic human hitting strike out numbers. I'm hoping this makes sense.

Only lower the human contact down.. don't mess with skill, cuz that will mess up ur hit variety

Question, how come my sliders say "Custom A" on the top right until I start following the AI batting sliders? It then switches the Custom P...

Can anyone explain this? It isn't really All Star sliders then I think.

EDIT: Even when I start on legend it goes back down to pro by the time I finish....

Ya.. no matter what its going to be "custom-Pro" I know my title is incorrect, but that was before I kept adjusting more and more, and this is what they've ended up being. Personally, I don't care if its custom rookie as long as its realistic!

Gotcha. I played another game now. I remember in the first 3 innings with these settings before I had hit 3 HR's with the twins. Now in this game I lost 5-0 with the Marlins against the Cubs. I drew 3 walks, had 6 hits and 1 of them was a double. No HR's though. What a difference a game makes!

I also used your method of throw where and what the catcher calls for. Had about 4 K's with Mitre. I don't think he's a real big strikeout pitcher so I think that's accurate.

Excellent job buddy. Sorry about all of the dumb questions, but these played well for me last game.

Re: Trinity's CLASSIC pitching/throwing AND batting Custom-A sliders

Just finished a game that I lost 5-4 in 10.

It started with Mauer hitting a HR, and then Hafner, and then Peralta all by the 3rd inning. I thought "here we go again."

However, Kevin Slowey was pitching to Hafner and Peralta, and Byrd was pitching to Mauer, so that would explain the homer happiness, especially for the Indians.

The game balanced out so realistic. I had 11 hits and 2 walks. The Indians had 14 hits and a walk. (10 hits and the walk were off of Slowey who went 6 1/3)

Such a great last few games with these. Again, thank you.

I tweaked only a couple things with the sliders recently, nothing major at all.. just lowered contact by human and AI... just didn't see enough swinging K's, and overall K's were down... I did up the power by 3 to 18 for both, only hit 1 HR since with Peralta, so doesn't look to be a bad idea. Besides, before that I could only hit them with Martinez and Hafner, was nice to see one from someone else.

I lowered the contact for human and AI too and am seeing more realistic strike out numbers on both sides. I also upped the power by three for both too and finally am seeing HRs by people other than the power hitters. In my Cub franchise I've had HRs by DeRosa, Fontenot and Soto since tweaking the power sliders.
The more I play this game, the more I'm really appreciating some of the small things this game brings to the table. I played the Show on the PSP for the last two years so making the jump to the 2k8 on the 360 was a tough decision. Is the game perfect? Not even close, but I'm really having a fun time.

I have noticed that the fielder sliders have a TON to do with hit veriety, amount of hits etc... I been messin with this a lot the last few games, and I'm close to finding something really good. I've not been able to get very many hits with me or the AI, and since lowering fielder speed and reaction it's been pretty good. I'll update the sliders when I find something good, if there is something you all are using i'm not that's working, please post, and thanks!

Daz, what are your power settings at right now? Are the homers getting out of control?

I think I'm at around 18 or 19. Been messing with them back and forth. I also turned my Human contact to about 60 which I think helps limit the amount of HRs I might hit. I had one game out of about 10 that was a HR fest (7 or 8 total between the two teams) and that ended up being a 9-5 game. Other than that I've had anywhere from 0 to 4 HRs combined between the two teams.
What I'm liking about the power settings is that it isn't just Soriano, Ramirez and Lee hitting HRs now. As a matter of fact, Soriano, and Ramirez went on a cold streak and quit hitting for power. Lee got hot and had four Hrs in a three game span. He hasn't hit any for about 3-4 games.

I have power at 18 for both AI and human.. but I have contact set at 72 for human. I haven't been able to get many HR's period haha.. its been 3 total at the most so far combined for a game. I like it though, it is nice to hit HR's with other hitters besides just Hafner and Martinez...

Let's not forget you're playing in Chicago, which is a hitter's park, so you're going to have games with a bunch of HR's at times maybe.. I've been in Cleveland, which isn't horrible, and then I played in Oakland, which is a bad hitter's park I think
