Also, it seems from most comments that cpu aggression at the plate is tied to the contact slider. I've been using a low cpu contact slider (35 because I've sucked at pitching - new to the series) and they take a ton of pitches. Has this been confirmed as well?
I don't know that lowering the contact slider results in more pitches taken as much as it results at less put in play. More swings and misses which will yield a higher pitch count. I'd rather have the pitch counts a little off than not enough hits/runs though. Not sure there is a 100% perfect solution for this.

I get quite a few foul balls. Alot of them seem to come with 2 strikes, when foul balls are frequent due to not wanting to strike out. Seems pretty realistic to me.

Are you talking user batting or cpu?

It seems strange to measure strengths and weaknesses of the game in regards to pitch count...

because its largely dependant on how YOU play the game.

I've seen pitch counts be both realistic and unrealistic purely because I was either swinging at everything or not choosing to use balls as a pitching strategy when on the mound.

Its a very subjective matter, this issue.

Do you hit a lot of homeruns with these sliders????

because I hit 1 homerun since the game came out.

Ok, but what about when the cpu's at bat?

                  Re: Blazzen's MLB2K10 Slider Thread

                  Played two more games tonight.

First game was vs. the phillies. Complete game shutout with Kenshin Kawakami. At this point I decided to make pitching a bit more difficult. I also decided to lower user power a little bit cause I've cranked a few homeruns recently.

First page sliders updated. Changes in bold.

And with those first page sliders I played the Mets.

                  Hanson vs. Pelfrey

                  Braves 5 13 0 - 10 singles, 1 double, 2 homeruns, 4 walks
                  Mets 2 12 0 - 10 singles, 2 triples, 2 walks

Pitched out of a few jams in this one despite Tommy Hansons low composure rating and my upped user composure sliders. I also threw a guy out at the plate from the outfield. Guess I just got lucky.

Also after lowering the power slider by 5 points I hit two homeruns, one of which was with Martin Prado who only has a 50 power rating. Other was McClouth (71 rating). So even with the 40 power rating homeruns are still very possible. I'm going to keep this setting where it's at.

Hopefully user pitching becomes a little more difficult and the cpu starts putting up runs. I thought about giving BFJ's sliders a shot but his settings look even easier than mine so I'm not sure about it.

Yes I do, so much so I lowered the power slider for the user by 5 points. After lowering this slider by 5 points down to 40, the very next game I took a Mike Pelfry fastball over the left field wall with Martin Prado who's power rating is only a 50.

Time a good power swing and you can hit the ball out even with the guys who aren't big sticks. I really like that about this game because previous years it was very difficult to hit homeruns with guys that werent middle of the lineup players.

I believe ITBEME's sliders on the 3rd/4th page have changed since. My sliders on the first page were updated last night. With that said, determining which set is better for you is something only you can do. Sliders have to be tailored to an individual's skill level.

                            No sir.

It was a power swing with no left stick influence.

The ONLY time I use left stick is if I want to hit a sac fly I'll hold up, if I want to hit the ball to the right side of the infield to move a runner from 2nd to third when there's no outs I'll hold it to the right.

When trying to hit homeruns holding the left stick HURTS you. It's better to just power swing and you'll then go with the pitch. I hit a number of opposite field homeruns this way.

Blazzen are you finding that pitching is still too easy with your 3/8/10 dated slider update?

Just curious how those updates are working for you as I haven't had a chance to test until I get home from work tonight.

Your sliders are great, the pitching is great and the baserunning too!!!!!! but i can't heven hit for a base hit!!!!! everytime I make contact is groundball or when i used the power swing (for a homerun) it result in a foul ball.

Do you have some tips to put the ball in play and to drove homerun?????
