Re: BIGFNJOE96 mlb 2k11 Custom Legend Sliders

after some early struggles, the game had become fairly easy for me. i dominate with even my #5 pitcher (though he's rated 77 so not terrible). i constantly bat .300 or better, and pujols is pretty much guaranteed 3 hits every game. i'm also guaranteed to strikeout 8-10 times a game too. not sure what i need to change. if i lower contact i will probably strike out 15+ times. maybe increase pitch speed? wondering how that affects hitting other than have less reaction time.

i tweaked my sliders to where the computer has a higher contact number than power and thier strike zone tendency is at 40 with the same pitch success as joe.

After some testing with my sliders (which are a hybrid of a couple-three sets here) I have found the pitcher composure influence slider to be near perfect at 5. Thanks for this find!

For those wanting to mess with Pitcher Fatigue, the lower the # the slower the pitcher fatigues & vica-versa.

Well, obviously user strike outs and strike percentages are going to vary. I swing alot but you can see from several pictures that I do get their pitch count up most of the time.

My pitch count is up because I tend to pitch more to contact than try to paint corners and throw balls.

I will say this in regards to fatigue. When I'm pitching, like in this last game for example, Porcello was at like 64 pitches (threw 78 total) and as soon as one runner was on base, the meter was WAY too fast. I try to get my pitchers to go 6 or 7 innings and even if their pitch count is relatively low, the meter is pretty fast.

In my opinion, the meter speed should be faster if he is rattled but not tired. In that case, he should lose velocity and some control but not be overthrowing everything.

But , I'll try whatever you'd like to try.
You should not that when the meter goes faster, it is also much harder to hit 90% effort. I start finding myself hitting 50-60% effort. I think that is much more like being fatigued.

The Pitch Meter Speed is something I've though about lowering, simply because this year the effectiveness of a pitch is really tied into how well your gesture is. The analog stick is very sensitive. I think this is what's causing pitches to miss there intended spots. Not so much the Pitch Control Slider.

              Any thoughts ?

Yeah, what were we thinking about . I will try 30 for a few games, I want to see that pitcher get 75-80 pitches under his belt before tiring out. I just dont see any pitchers going the distance at 40 fatigue. What do you think?

To be quite honest, I really like where it is at now. I usually get 6-8 stikeouts from my pitchers, so if get 10+ I really feel like I was into it on the mound. I know what you mean about the sensitivity of the stick, but I also feels like a good challenge for me.

I really like the way these sliders are working out. I would like to see a couple of more Homeruns from other guys on the team, but its my fault not hitting the right pitches.

I use Breakpoint pitching by the way. I have tried both too.

Bimmer, I'm with you on the the pitch meter speed & pitching. Using Breakpoint myself. I know others will feel just the opposite, but one of my issues with last year's game was how easy it was to pitch and pinpoint.

Loving the latest changes to the sliders, Joe. Have had some really good games since moving the Pitch Composure to 0.

It depends on PC. I had Kevin Slowey yesterday go 8 strong on me.(believe his pitch count was between 80-85) I did kind of make his job easy by chasing bad pitches. His energy was good(believe it was between 40-45)

Now if your patient & work PC pitcher's will get pulled, but I'm not sure if it's a fatigue thing as it's more about PC. The developer's did say PC was gonna be more of a factor than fatigue.

Its funny because I had kinda the exact opposite happen to me yesterday. I was playing the Yankees and they have F. Garcia on the mound. I make this guy work hard and draw 4 walks and 2 run off of 5 hits through 4 innings. (85+pitches).

Garcia never came out for the top of the 5th, however the Yankees were winning at this point 5-2. I thought maybe he should of had a chance to pitch the 5th to get the win. Maybe this is just A.I. logic

I guess the question is what number is 95-105 pitches for the CPU, so they can pick up the shut out if they are rolling.

What was his PC set to? You can check this when in the pause menu. It looks like the CPU is really strict about PC & will pull pitchers once they get into their PC Zone.

So this goes back to PC V Fatigue. Many of us were worried when the developer's mention PC would be a factor, how would they manage the 2 & right now I'm not sure how fatigue is effect pitcher's compared to pitch count..

BTW I'm really think about moving back down to 30 for Contact. I'm also waiting on further discussion around Fatigue V PC before I make any more changes to the sliders.

Right now it seems Pitcher Composure @ 5 for both seems like a definite?

                            Tulowitski- 3
                            Gonzalez-2

So at 80 only my power hitters are hitting homeruns so far, but again I think this is more learning the hitting, plus I use classic control.

Doubles are not an issue at 80 which I like. Last game I had 9 hits 5 were doubles and the game before I had 0. So the variety is real good.

Do you user power swing or does classic not have it?

I use the stick and rarely use power swing. I turned hum power up to 100 to see if I could get HR's without it and that is pretty much a no go. I can barely hit them using power.

I think I've hit 1 with Miguel Cabrera and 2 with Victor Martinez.
The other 6 or so HR's have come from me playing with other teams and guys lower in the lineup (6+)

I know when I pitch, I don't max out the pitch meter all the time. I only max it out when I want this pitch to be a strikeout pitch or when I have to pitch to the best hitters on the team. I have been able to take pitchers deep into their pitch counts. I play situational baseball with a passion on this game and I get great results from both myself and computer especially with these sliders.

Just played a unbelievable gm against the Mets, lost in the bottom of the 12th by a dropped ball by I.Stewart in rightfield to give the Mets the 4-3 win. I used 0 composure in this game. I really like the 0 composure setting because I dont feel like any hits came cheap on either side.

In regards to fatigue I tried 30 and checked the CPU pitcher after every at bat and it seemed to me like Capuano tired quicker. I could be wrong because this is the first time I checked like that. I bumped it back to 40 and the rest of the gm all pitchers seemed to tire right. Maybe the slider is backwards. I am gonna keep a close eye on this at 40 for the whole nevt game. I think you hit it right at 40 Joe.
