Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
just wondering if ppl are using these sliders specifically for base runner speed in my player mode. I have been playing as a second baseman and I have noticed that on balls hit 1 or 2 steps either way of me that I cannot turn a double play against the cpu. I'm thinking it is because of how long it takes the players to get rid of the ball.Last edited by beecravey7; 05-01-2012, 02:33 PM.Comment

I mean yeah some stuff makes sense like pitchers pitching out of the stretch may screw up their mechanics etc, but I was unaware of 2k actually taking any of those factors into account.Comment

Player dynamic ratings. Chances are, if a pitcher gets rocked early, he's going to get rocked hard, since his pitches will start losing control.Comment

For me, personally, 85 pitch speed is way too high. I can actually time it up pretty well, but as the game progresses, it gives me a headache and I start swinging at everything. It's going back to 75 for me.Comment

Two tweaks, the first I've made for my personal use and the 2nd I'm considering:
1) raised cpu batting power to 90. at 85, I played 4 games in which the cpu hit NO homeruns. 90 puts the fear factor in the game, and makes you think when you pitch. LOVE IT!!!
2) possibly lower pitch speed to 80 or 75. I'm finding I now strike out a LOT, especially on breaking balls. I think 80 might work as I just need that split second longer to recognize the pitch.
but other than these two changes, I think we're good...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
AI Pitch Speed at 75 is just right for me too. I'm able to be patient, but when a guy is dealing on me, has good stuff, and gets ahead in the count early and consistently, my inability to lay off pitches off the plate is realistic and believable.
Another random thing with the sliders: for some reason having outfield speed at 5-10 is too low for me. Seems like it's too easy for me and the CPU to get triples on balls in the gaps. Most runners are usually on 2nd when the outfielder finally reaches the ball. I raised it to 30, but that might be too high. We'll see.Last edited by dubcity; 05-02-2012, 09:19 PM.Comment

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
I had a really good game with these. The only changes from default I'm using are pitch speed at 75, and user control at 20. For my next game, I'm also going to drop user errors. At 55, I just see too many errors. Any hard hit liner at my middle infielders is bobbled, and too many throws in the yellow go for errors, imo. Had 3 errors alone in my last game, and it should have been 4, but no one advanced on the last one. That's another slider that could probably benefit from being an inbetween number. I think I'm also going to drop pitcher fatigue back to 50. I don't like having to pull a guy after 6 innings and 87 pitches. I couldn't really even try and send him back out.Last edited by DonkeyJote; 05-02-2012, 10:05 PM.Comment

I actually haven't seen that one yet. But through the first 7 games of my franchise, Uggla has 5 errors and Pastornicky has 4. Even at 50, I saw three dropped line drives in one game (two from me, in the same inning, with 2 outs, that led to 6 unearned runs), and one by the Brewers.Comment
