    Uuuh this game...
It states very specifically to start from all-star sliders. So as far as I'm concerned, your test results are meaningless

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching

There comes a point in time where we recognize, sadly, that this game is NOT simulation baseball. The sliders won't give us this... The AI managerial decisions won't give us this... We can test and test and test---and we're gonna be right where we always are.

I'm going to suggest one "final" set (which will be posted on page 1 - post 1) and then THAT'S IT!!! NO MORE updates UNLESS a patch arrives... We can't keep doing this. I read the other slider sets and none of us have solved the issues here...and we WON'T.

I do appreciate all the feedback, and I read EVERY comment here. I'm no guru or genius, just a guy who loves baseball and would love to play a video game that gave this to me. Funny, but it was back in my college days (early 90's) that I played Tony LaRussa Baseball - and I haven't played a baseball game since then that truly gave me simulation baseball. I don't own a ps3, and nor will I...so this is all I've got to work with.

Again, thanks for the feedback...and by all means, keep posting!! You may find that Holy Grail slider set we're all looking for...

....though I won't start holding my breath.

EDIT: page 1 - post 1 set is now updated. Any changes from the previous set is in BOLD/RED.

Another good game. Went into extra innings (12). D-backs (user) v Brewers (CPU).

          USER RUNNING:
          Base Runner Speed: 45
          Pickoff Success: 55
          Catcher Arm Strength: 15
          Catcher Arm Accuracy: 5

Do you ever throw anybody out with these settings? I Have these set on 40 and 40, and I still have trouble throwing runners out. I have the CPU running set at 50/50, and they always gun me. Is there any chance these two are accidentally swapped? Just askin. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

I'm completely satisfied where we are at now. Maybe a few VERY minor tweaks here or there to your liking and that's it.

Played another fun game, Angels (user) vs. Red Sox (cpu). It was Wilson v Buchholz. The three stolen bases were from a passed ball that allowed 3 runners to advance (1 to score).

Yep... And I want speed guys to scare the hell out of me. I've played with the sliders are found (what I believe) to be a nugget in this game: the reason why the WRONG guys were trying to steal bases had nothing to do with the base stealing aggression slider... BUT it was the HIT-AND-RUN slider that was causing this.

But I throw over to first a lot... Hold down the left trigger and watch what the runner will do... AND CRITICAL: watch the upper right window and see what kind of lead the baserunner gets. The running game is an important element to the game. This lower setting now makes it much more realistic and fun... But that's just me....

I'm loving these new sliders. Played two games so far. Lost 9-5 to Baltimore first game and just beat them 6-3 in the second. I made them throw 152 pitches and walk me 7 times this last game!!

I played a game since posting this, and I did have a throw out at second, and also gave up one steal... So I am satisfied. Now I just need to work on my base stealing. We only have 6 steals in 21 games, and have been caught 7 times.

My boys in blue are 4-17 now, with a two game winning streak! Of course it was against the twins. I've won the last two games 4-1, and 4-2.

Exactly. I have the H&R slider turned way down. I discovered quite a while back that's why people like Michael Young and Napoli were constantly trying to steal.

They're low, I only had the one with konerko in the first game. But it's a tricky thing to figure out. I got power at 65 and don't want to turn it up anymore.

I wish this game had a HR power of 62 or 63 - it would be near perfect. I hit 3 HR's with Votto last night, so I don't know if it's just "one of those games" or that it's an issue of really powerful guys going off.

I'm awaiting what might come of a patch, but I'm thinking about reviewing all the power guys in my roster file, and lowering each of them by 10 attribute points - anyone above 90. But I'm gonna wait that out. Right now, my BIGGEST issue with this game is 2 things (outside of AI managerial decisions for the CPU which cannot be manually fixed):

                          1) too many user HR's
                          2) too many innings pitched by the cpu

Again, if I knew what patch might be on it's way - and what it does that would be one thing. But I don't want to do anything stupid to the rosters. And for those who say, "well, just make 2 roster files" - that's easy to say when it's not YOUR time being invested (on top of the COUNTLESS hours I've already put into that). But I *think* a good fix MIGHT be 2 things:

                          - lower HR attributes for those in the 90's
                          - lower pitcher stamina across the board

                          But time will tell.....

I only see two issues. One, is I still think there are a few too many errors. Any really hard hit linedrive in the infield seems to be bobbled by either side. Two, is human stealing. Even with a big lead and a good jump, it's very difficult to steal bases with anyone who doesn't have elite speed. I can get steals with Bourn, though it's close, and occasionally get some with Heyward, but not really at the rate it should be. And it's impossible with a guy like Prado, for me anyway. It's a tough situation, though. If you make it so mid-speed guys can get steals, then it becomes way too easy for speedsters.
