So I just finished my third game and for the second game in a row I saw triples due to 3 things, slow outfielders, weak arms, and fast base running. I like the speed at which players get to balls in the outfield and I think if it was any higher you'd see to many balls caught in the gap. With that being said I think I'm gonna raise outfield throw and lower baserunner speed for both the CPU and ME. Here's the rests from my last game.

    R H E
    BAL (me) 8 13 0
    BOS 5 10 0

    O's
Offense was led by Markakis and Reimold who both went 3/5 while driving in 2 runs each. Markakis also had 3 doubles. My team had no home runs. I did hit the Green Monster about 4 times, one time Markakis was about 6 inches from hitting it over which was pretty cool to see. As far as pitching Migues Gonzalez went 6 gave up 4ER 6H and 2HR while getting 6 K's.My staff as a whole had 11 K's and 1 BB.

    Sox
Offense was led by Elisbury who went 2/4 with a solo HR, and Ortiz who went 1/4 with his lone hit being a 3 run dinger to dead center. As far as anomalies go, Johnny Gomes went 2/4 with 2 triples. Morales went 6 1/3 giving up 8H & 6ER, while walking 1 and recording 5 K's. Their staff ended up totaling 6 K's and 2 BB for the game.

TC raise OF Throw Speeds & try this before lowering baserunning and see how that works.

I too have been thinking about raising OF Throw Speeds. You could try default 50, then work your way from there

I do think the setting for accuracy is perfect. I see a nice combination of guys getting nailed, and throws high and away from the bag.
Agree , needs to be looked at. I have a fast Atlanta lineup with Uptons and crew. Seem a bit to easy.

I honestly thing he only thing that needs work with this set is the base running vs arm speed, besides that I think pitching and hitting are on point. Just played a great where I lost as BAL @ NY 5-3. It was a slugfest with them jacking 3 HR (granderson, gardner, Arod) and me 2 (both Betemit). Unfortunately I struck out 12 times and just couldn't get enough production from the middle of my lineup. Pineda was really on for them going 6 1/3 only giving up 2 R and striking out 7.

Thanks for the feedback. Man if Throwing Speeds are the only things people feel need real tweaking, then we are in a good place

Anyone else feeling the Pitcher Composure is over programmed again?

I'm seeing my pitchers getting rattled fairly quickly. I'm thinking about lowering the composure slider like I have in the past.

              What do you guys think?

I've seen a few moments of suspicious rattling. I think something lower is in order.

My guess is, it's over-programmed due to "The Challenge" Last time Pitcher Composure was over-programmed I lower it to 5 or 10 MAX

Let's test Pitcher Composure for Both HUM/CPU @ 10 & see the results

Also let's Bump AI Catcher Throw Strentgh to 60 & Lower Human Catcher to 40 & see if this helps with steals

I like the user composure at 60 - in a number of test games, I've found this to be a nice balance. For the cpu I think 5 is the magic number as well.

If it's at all helpful, I find that lowering the catcher throw speed (at least for the user catcher) by quite a bit is beneficial. I also am tinkering with sliders, and I had baserunner speed = 40 as you do, and I was able to gun down Ben Revere stealing (speed = 97, acc = 90 I think...) with my catcher Jason Castro (arm strength = 85, accuracy = 91 or so) with user catcher throw power at 35 (catcher throw accuracy is somewhere around 45 for me). It was a beautiful chuck right on line and only beat Revere by a tick. He was stealing on a slider as well, so he had a good jump. It was a nice battle of good defensive catcher vs. extreme speed. I had also just thrown over to 1st, so that may have helped out!

I still need to test user base-stealing against the catcher a bit more, but I have a feeling with baserunner speed = 40, CPU catcher throw power at 50 will be too high for my liking. A good test is good defensive catchers can throw out up to 40% of would-be base stealers. So, with your fastest guys you should be safe at least 60% of the time, probably more since excellent base swipers tend to be 80-90% safe. That being said, I don't want to tune it to play 80s baseball either with 100+ steals for a guy.

Right now, I'm working on hitting controls and I don't think I'll need power all the way to 100, as I was making solid contact at power = 70-75. CPU power around 75-80 looks good also for me. I think I set the CPU pitch speed lower though, at 70 or something about that, so I could see how less reaction time would require more power. But, I do use total control hitting with the left stick for aiming also, which adds some difficulty (and sometimes the pitcher makes me look AWFUL when I guess wrong on location).

About the pitcher composure, yes it's a bit overdone at the default setting. Giving up ONE hit, something as innocuous as a single in the 1st inning, and the pitching aim is bouncing around like crazy! So, I think bumping that down makes sense.

Once I get some more time invested in this game, I've only played 5-6 games so far, I can chime in with a bit more authority.

And also, thanks for working on these and giving us gamers a head start on our fave settings.

I am not seeing a huge deal with composure this year compared to 2k12. I have Braves rotation so pretty solid. Also, using coach call out and inside edge helps calm it.

I'd have to agree with lowering catcher throw power. Although I am playing with weiters, who has led the league in throw out percentage the last 2 years at somewhere around 35%. Yet, so far through 5 games I've gunned down every attempted stealer with ease, hardy just sits there and waits for them to slide into the tag. On the other hand I haven't been thrown out once in somewhere around 8 attempts, even successfully stealing multiple times with guys like Reimold who only has 82 speed.
