Re: Pared's MVP 2005 Gameplay Sliders

ok, PARED, can you please post what slider setting you have your human/CPU power and contact, thanks...i just want to have it what your at, so i can either keep it there, or tweak it for my liking. you may have already said what they were at earlier, but i read through this thread, and it wasn't clear to me

ALSO, have you changed the slider for the CPU taking pitches?, if not now worries

I have been trying to tweak them a bit more; however, I think I have got both User and CPU pitching sliders fixed to realism. I still need to work more on both hittings since they are putting up to 3-4 homeruns a game on the board. I'm going to keep decreasing their power till I see that it's fixed. I might up my power maybe 3-5 more then I'm set.

Re: Pared's MVP 2005 Gameplay Sliders

When I had User hitting at 14 (Pared's 1.0 value), I struck out at less than 1 time a game.

Had to go back to 0's across the board for contact and power, and -26 for swing frequency.

I've got CPU swing frequency at -33, to help reduce the amount of first pitch swings. Seems to be helping.

Have you had any issues with them taking a lot of 3rd pitch strikes?

It happens occasionally, but not to where I feel it's a problem yet. I don't usually get high strikeout number anyway, normally 5-6 a game combined between my starters and bullpen.

Re: Pared's MVP 2005 Gameplay Sliders

I have played enough games now to comment in regards to CPU homeruns. I use Pared's Version 1.0 slider set with some minor adjustments. The issue here could be the All Star difficulty level (I believe this boosts the attributes for each player, thus causing some unrealistic power ratings), so getting this particular slider resolved is paramount to any other slider at this point.

Even with CPU Power/Contact sliders at 0, there are hitters that would not be considered power hitters in anyway hitting 430 ft HR's on balls either out of the strike zone, or in their "cold" zone.

Having said that, I don't feel it's a contact slider issue, but rather solely the power slider. I have seen numerous posts in regards to adjusting the CPU Power slider, but seems as though nothing has really helped.

If we can resolve this issue amongst all of us who read, or post in this thread, I think we will have the slider set locked down.

I am going to set the CPU Power slider to -50 and throw fastballs right down the middle of the plate, or directly to the particular hitters hot zone and adjust this slider until I get it right.

It would be appreciated if others can do the same, and report on any findings.

                          Thanks in advance.

Is there a way to make your pitchers taje longer to warm up? they warm up WAY to fast.
