Is it me or does Giambi look bigger than he has been? It's gotta be the workout regimen :P I'd need to go on that..

I love how Yankee fans hated Giambi and wanted the team to find loopholes in his contract so they could release him, and now you're all in love with the guy again.

I still hate his fielding, which was the main problem (to me) in the first place.

In either case, I'd be surprised if this is something Giambi can maintain over an extended period of time. He's gonna put up decent power and OBP #'s every year but it might take a few years for him to regain his health and get all that **** out of his system before he can do it on a more consistent basis.

Yeah, I don't expect him to stay this hot, but I don't possible see how he drops down to .230 or lower. Just watching him swing was brutal.

Yah I think at worst he'll be a .280, 25 HR, 85 RBI guy in the future. Obviously not worth the money they're paying, but a huge improvement over his production last year and earlier this year. Even when he wasn't hitting well, he still had an excellent OBP which kept him in the lineup and helped him to work through some of his problems.

Thats true... but you should know better than most that Yankee fans are all about "what have you done for me lately?" When the whole steroid thing emerged.. we were going to support him as long as he was on our team, but we were very very pissed that hes draining all of this money from the team when we could pay the league minimum for a guy putting up the same production.

We love him now that we hear that he's been putting in 10 times more work with Don Mattingly every day than every other player to perfect his swing and its showing in the games. Plus he's a classy guy so whats there not to love?

The fact that he's a cheater.

Do we really know this for fact? I take it you must know him personally or something..

To me, being an admitted steroid using cheater doesn't scream 'class', but hey, to each his own..

FWIW, I picked him up in my roto league about 2 weeks ago. Good times.

                              WAS a cheater.

Snoop Dog once said, ""To err is human, to forgive is divine."

Plus it helps when he's got an OBP of .420

As I say, he shouldn't be excused.. if the other guys involved in the sterioud thing can't be.

I swear, looking at the pic of him in the Daily News today, his arm looks bigger than I am, and I'm 185 lbs :P
